This isn't correct at all.  The drivers in the FXT90 are in the housing, not the nozzle.

Oh. Sorry. I got it confused with the HA-FXD80. Now I am getting interested in the HA-FXT90. How large are the drivers? Can one buy it for much under $100?

The FXT90 has dual 5.8mm drivers arranged horizontally in the housing.  They're made of different materials and as such each has a slightly different frequency response.

As for pricing, best prices that I saw were $85-$90.

Interesting. I haven't found it for under $100 yet. I am very frugal and hate the idea of spending over $50 for an IEM, however I might make an exception for this one, especially if I can find it for under $80. Is it very new? If so will the price drop a bit soon? It seems like very few dealers in the US even have it. Is it a grey market import from Japan, or was it officially released here?

You'll probably have better luck asking in the FXT90 thread.  I don't own a pair any more.

Amazon.jp sell those black ftx90 for around $60 (http://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/product/B004VHAJJU). You can use a forwarding service, and depend on where you live, you can get those for cheaper than $90.

I live in south east asia and got these for $75

I don't want to order one from outside the US. I guess I will need to wait until US sellers have them at a decent price.

I was hesitant about ordering from outside US also, but amazon japan and tenso are great actually.  Save money, i actually got my Ath cks1000 for $158 including shipping to USA, and received it in 6 days.  Amzon japan accepts returns just like USA, very easy to use.

Best price here was $230 with a 4 week shipping time

I finally got around to buying a pair of these, and I love them!

These have my favorite sound signature - heaps of treble with clean but deep bass. My only complaint is that the sub-bass isn't as pronounced as I'd like.

I use this track to gauge how well a pair of headphones brings out sub-bass. There's a rumble at around the 29 second mark that's nearly inaudible without sub-bass-capable gear.

I also see what people are talking about re: the treble, but I actually don't find them all that piercing, though it'll certainly be a relief once the burn-in takes the edge off them. My tolerance for these levels of treble really does make me worry for my hearing - after blasting my ears with the ridiculously trebly white XKDUN CK700s for the last year, I'm starting to suspect that I've screwed my ears over. Yeah, I could listen more quietly, but I listen to a lot of hardcore punk and metal, and that sort of stuff doesn't have the same visceral impact without high volume.

Just wanted to tos you a compliment on your use of Deltron!  Have you heard the new track off of the soon to be released Deltron 2?

Sadly these don't isolate much, for buses maybe, but the subway should be a no go.

I think the isolation of the HA-FX40 is okay but not great. The included tips though aren't so good, and better tips should be used.

I still have no idea why my quote function doesn't put the username. Oh well.

Anyway, no - I actually haven't heard about that, but thanks for the heads up! The Automator was my favorite producer back in the late 90s and it was really tragic to see him sorta fall off after Gorillaz blew up.

Speaking of Heiroglyphics related stuff, have you heard First Light's "Fallacy Fantasy"?
