I guess i am still hoping deep down that Sony will fund another R10 , non profit making experiment , in these economic times and with Sonys less than stellar performance its unlikely but we can live in hope.

 

Yeah they asked artist who want to create music with a lot of bass. I want these, but not if they did not get input from someone who a real audiophile.

I probably would, to see what it sounds like when the treble is taken away from everything.

 

Just because it has a 10 KHz limit doesn't mean anything. The sound that is there could very easily be amazing.

Etymotics only go to 15Khz and sound mighty good in the treble region :-).

Actually most of the music I have heard rarely goes over 10Khz.

But I am finish with the whole discussion about what Sony advertises. I hope I will start to hear about people are hearing soon! Or some posts to real reviews.

OK after listening to my shiny new Sony XBA3 I picked up for $99 I have to wonder if they are similar in sound to the MDR-1R except with the 1R's sounding larger, if they are I think I will clearing a lot of gear to get these because I am really digging the XBA3 at the moment.

This is true. They make music. They like music. But not all are audiophiles in the sense I am thinking of. All those musicians they had on the trailer or w.e were super bass heavy.
