Guys,

Got mine today, and I found that black the cloth mesh that sort of covers the driver unit it not taut against the speaker. Actuallu there's quite a bit of slack. Is this normal?

Thanks

import the 1R from the UK's ebay if you find one available becuase they are pretty cheap there and there are no fakes floating around as far as I'm aware. Btw my main listening genre is hip hop/rap and I find them great for the genre. The better mix a rap album has the better it will sound so some albums barely improve over cheaper options but the good mixed stuff is a joy to listen to. They respond well to EQ so if you feel that that the bass isn't enough then you can boost it but either way they sound great with kicks tight and hard hitting which is really satisfying after using the xb500s which are muddy in comparison. The more contained bass also makes non-fatiguing for me. It's possible there are slightly better options out there I'm sure you won't be disappointed by these in any aspect. I bought them a few months ago and am in love with them. They really make listening to well-mixed hip hop, funk and jazz a much better experience, look and feel great, and are portable and comfortable. What more can I say?

I don't listen to dubstep or EDM so I can't comment on that, sorry

They do fine with dub, though my ATH WS99 does it much better.

For those who live in Melbourne and outer suburbs:

Sony Centre located in Chapel St., Prahran is having a closing down sale!

Sony Mdr-1's are on sale @ 160+. If you're still on the fence on getting these cans, this is the best time to get off...

I'm using these with the Xperia Z Tablet. The combination is the best audio I've heard from any headphone, amp, usb dac in my repertoire.

Does anyone know where I can buy a spare cable for these?

Thanks

Its a simple 3.5 mm to 3.5mm cable, you can buy that anywhere.

Thanks, dude. smily_headphones1.gif I'm thinking more along the lines of the stock cable, however.

Why?

A friend of mine managed to pinch my cable in a car door.
