I'm guessing UE900's weak spot will be there around the faceplate seal.

I was under the impression that the shell had only aesthetic purpose nothing more, meaning it was glue on top of already enclosed back, otherwise I see your point if that was not the case.

But regardless this is nothing new. A company generally has to offer you the same item as a replacement under warranty or upgrade you at their loss. Don't be fooled by some of these companies. They'll try to take you for a ride if you don't speak up. I sure as hell would make a commotion if I was being screwed. Basically spitting it back in their face saying "that this is not my problem and don't make it my problem." Sennheiser was replacing the IE7s under warranty with IE80s just as they were replacing the IE8s with IE80s."

I've never lost with this to be honest. Even the BS I went through with Dell was like pulling teeth. But in the end I got my way and an upgraded machine over my old and constantly-defective machine.

If ever something craps out on me, I think I'll unleash my wife on them, she can be pretty feisty in these situationstongue.gif

lmao. Well that just may do the trick. tongue_smile.gif

Generally I'm quite cordial on the phone but I won't stand for being taken advantage of. Then I become quite nasty. ;)

Going from $160 for TF10 to $400 for UE900 seems like quite the hosing to me.  The UE900 looks like $30 ear candy to me.  Swivel cables are a gimmick.  Fit aside, I think the TF10 look generally more professional and more durable.  I am hesitant and leary of this Logitech product at the moment.

Flagships, higher end stuff are usually way overpriced like that, same applies to something like the W4.

Just going by the shape of the housing? They're both mostly plastic, if anything the proprietary(?) cable connector seems quite serious in aesthetics. Joe or any other owner of both will be able to answer this best, but they're both enclosed by pretty much the same form of plastic, don't see how the TF10 can be more durable. They'll both need about the same amount of care is my guess, I'll guess the same of the W4 vs these. Time will tell, but I see no issue.

I'd like to know how these will sound compared to the TF10.  I understand why they cost $400 but you'd think after all the build quality issues the TF10 had that they'd make them out of some thing more durable, at least a strong type of plastic because the nozzle looks like its made of the same cheap plastic that the TF10, UE600 and UE700 have.

You have to remember that the UE900s are new.  They haven't been given 8 years for their price to drop under 50% of their MSRP.  Give it time, the price will drop eventually (they all do).  I made this statement earlier concerning MSRP vs "street" price for this exact reason.  Most products are rip offs at MSRP, especially flagships.  All of them drop in price.

I think Joe already did a comparson between these and the TF10.  I unfortunately won't be able to do this :(  I have no TF10.  The closest thing I have is the SuperDarts (Atomic Floyd).

Just got these and so far pretty impressed..... sound is awesome, comparing to my sony BT775 the base is nice and feels like you are in a big room. very happy with the sound. The fit is great, had them in a few hours and still very comfortable.

couple nitpicking things..... the memory wire is pretty weak, doesn't keep its shape as well as I would like. Also they don't go deep enough into the ear as I would like, but I think that is just personal preference.

easily the best universal IEM i have owned. still like my custom Unique Melody Miracles better, but they are on a beach somewhere in the philipines :-(

There is a package sitting in my room at my house. I'm at school during the week. I head home Thursday nights...

Just curious, does anyone want a comparison to the SuperDart? I will be doing W4 for sure, maybe Phonak.

Tonight's THURSDAY!!! Yippie! wink.gif

I will do this when they are both burned in.  That said, we do have to wait for the 900s to break in a bit before you'll get comparisons.  I'm just creating a queue for now.  So far:

  • W4(R)
  • Heir Audio
