Ya... I could, but I sweat a lot. So I don't want to get my cables all sticky, smelly and stuff.

These are rubber cables so they shouldn't have that problem, I would understand that concern with fabric cables though.

um.... Don't really agree with you there.  I think my old cheap Apple in-ear that I had would disagree with that assessment as it is all gummed up and nasty.  Don't underestimate the power of sweat.

hmm, I'll smell my old Klipsch S4s and get back to you then, but based on appearance they look fine. Could be that Apple cables are white but Klipsch cables are black.

Ya... I don't know.  My experience is pretty universal; pretty much every pair I replaced to be my exercise earphones, they all pretty much become pretty nasty at the end.  Otherwise, I might have some special sweat that kills plastic.

I'm finally thinking about biting the bullet and finally buying a pair of these.  Actually I'd buy the 900s model.  They would mostly be paired with a FiiO X5 as the source playing for the most part FLAC files, but in some cases high bitrate MP3's.  Is there any reason that this wouldn't be a good pairing?

I had UE900 straight into an iphone and I enjoyed them. They were warm with nice detail and a pretty treble. No fatigue with the sound, a pair you can listen to for hours at a time. The mids sit back a bit and tend to soften the bite of electric guitars, but the 900s and your specific setup may alleviate that. But it's still nice sound for the price.

Thanks for the prompt replies. I figured it would be a good pairing and I had been eyeing the UE900s for awhile. I never figured I'd spend so much on a pair of IEM's, but after joining here I caught the bug. I thank you for all of the help, but my wallet doesn't.

You won't have any luck with Logitech (emaill) CS, I've been trying to contact them about replacement UE900s eartips but the representative (someone called Nathali, I got her both times I emailed) flat out insisted that the 900 and 900s are exactly the same even after I have sent her multiple pictures. It's quite clear that Logitech CS reps have no understanding about the UE line at all...

I'm starting to think that they could sale ue900 as 900s...

they must be aware of this new product.
