Ultimate Ears UE 900 Discussion and Impressions Thread - Page 192

Got my 900s!  Wow!  I was using Shure E5's - yes the older 5's with 2 drivers.  Always heard the 5's were well loved and I thought I was in portable heaven.

Put the 900s on my iPod Classic and they definitely sound better.  Much more detail and instrument separation.  Bass much clearer.  Then I hooked up my C&C Box+ using line out (I have my music ripped lossless) and things went to another level entirely.  Bass strong and extremely detailed.

Have to do more listening but I'm in love!

I also came from E5. For me the upgrade was almost like night and day since i'm a treble head and i find the E5 lacking a little treble extension. :)

. Thanks! one more thing... does it a clear difference between using iPad and Classic? Now i've owned iPad and not sure if the difference is enough to get the classic.

Sorry I've only tried the UE900s out of the iphone 4, iPhone 4s, iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, Ipod classic, ipod Nano (forget which one). I've not tried it with an iPad. The reason why I think the UE900s sound good with iProducts is because it sounds great out of all the iproducts I've tried, but it sounds rubbish with the Samsung Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3 and even on my desktop setup you see in my signature

I always need to EQ IEMs (but not headphones - weird) so they sound good on whatever player has a decent EQ.   So that's Foobar on the PC or Rockbox on the Clip Zip.

I'm loving my 900's. Such clear sound. i was thinking about getting the new htc one as it comes out in a week or two and i wonder how they'll sound on them...

Take your money and run away from the UEs. I've owned the 900 since it came out and have never had so many problems. Replaced 3 times and I have replaced a faulty stock OEM cable about 6 times already. smh

I'm using iPod Classic.  The current UE is the 900s.  My experience with Logitech has been very good - Squeezebox (while it was a product) and other computer accessories.

Isn't the 900s the first UE product logitech has fully managed?  And haven't they addressed the complaints I've seen on the 900?

The 900 is the first IEM that Logitech has fully managed. They have not officially addressed the QC issues from what I'm aware of. I could be wrong though.

here's something interesting.. my UE900's look the same as others, sound pretty damn good...but their packaging looked so different. Pretty much everything inside the box was the same as others except mine didn't have the Welcome/Thank You booklet...really odd. Outside mine has a paper type version packaging rather than harder one. take a look at these pics and feel free to give feed back because i'm a bit concerned...no mention of iphone/ipad certification on outside packaging either nor are their store hanging hooks. (there were no safety seals or anything either lol..)  Bought 'em off amazon and condition said new....but man...idk.

this doesn't seem like an easy product to fake.

This may be stupid question but will black foamies for Shure E5 fit the UE 900s?

The way they're addressing the complaints is to downgrade the warranty from 2 years to 1 year. Just goes to show how committed they are to fixing the related problems. Dodgy much?
