I was talking about Logitech Europe and not retailers.

We will just have to wait and see. But for now I don't see any point in not trusting Mike. Maybe it's the usual PR-thing "Naaah we're not going to do..." *bam discontinued* or maybe he's telling the truth. smily_headphones1.gif

I never said I don't trust Mike, obviously he knows better than us, but it does look odd to me that Logitech Europe doesn't carry them anymore. They are shown there but cannot be purchased.  Weird.

Does anyone here know if the UE 900 iPhone cable is superior to Shure's iPhone cable?

ok you make me really nervous now lol maybe they are correcing things with the 900's before they just ship out the same old problems ya know ..maybe ?? I'm hoping that's what they are doing. They must know how bad the quality of these are and are fixing. Hopefully...my serial number starts with ..1241c..is this the newer batch would you know or the older ..thanks :-)

mine has batch # 1242 it developed a problem in the first week, the sounds was cutting in and out as other reported. Strangely, I took it apart once and it works ok for now although I am suspecting the right channel producing weaker sound. Could be my hearing as well. Is there a website or something to check it out somehow?

On a side note, IIRC the UE 900 are not available since October 2013 (in Europe)... This is way too long and I am a bit hesitant to ship mine to Logitech under warranty. I am in Canada, but don't wanna send it to them if all they have is old batches.

My hearing isn't the greatest in my left ear. All my other earphones the right side seems louder then the right ..with these they seem more balanced. Meaning that my left ear piece is louder then the right. So I'm thinking it's not your hearing ..I'm thinking that they are inballanced louder on the left side ..it's actually good for me cause of the hearing loss in my left ear. Lol I'm not sure if I want to send them in for rma or not seeing that they seem ballanced to me this way lol but it's still not good and shouldn't happen with a product this expensive.imo

Now I am really wondering because this is what I hear too, like the left channel is louder while the right one is a bit weaker and further.  arrgghh.

Mine is the same as yours I know it. Cause is these are sounding ballanced to me ..that means the left side is louder then the right bc of my little hearing loss in my left ear. It kinda works for me. I'm not sure if I'm missing anything bc of it but they do sound amazing non the less. I'm really liking them .

Hello, I wanted to share my experience with my UE900 for about one year of customization and use.

I'm happy to say that there are no connectors issues with mine.

For the SQ, the cable provided are ok. But the sound seems to be 'blurred'. The soundstage is great and spherical, but the instrument placement a bit off for me (a bit abstract). It still fun, but the comfort is no good around the hear.

I wanted to experiment with different aftermarket cables, even custom 'silver+copper hybrid' one (For a cost, but great). Which sound great with a lot of details and separation, with good bass but I'm using my UE900 for commuting so I needed a fun sound. These cables are OK for analytic listening like classical, jazz. And the cable was a bit big too and the tips were always seems to getting outside my hear. Still the sound has bring clarity never found in the black or blue cable. It seems that aftermarket cable changes the sound greatly. It can brings more bass, clarity depending on the metal used for the cable.

The Fiio Cable is comfortable but as a lot of microphonic. It as a lot of details but no low bass. Good for certain genre. The soundstage is a bit congested too.

My latest cable is this one: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/261228539161?var=560205145976&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 No microphonic at all and comfortable. Great clartiy, highs and profound bass. The soundstage and separation are not like the hybrid cable, but still more focused, a bit more intimate (closer to the head). Not that expensive like other custom cables out there too.

I've tried blocking the small bore on the nozzle, but I still wanted a bit of fun with my bass. (the rumble)

Also I found out that the sound from my Iphone was a bit boring. Using 320 mp3 was not enough. Tried amping my Iphone but it was too big and I wanted to make phone calls too! ;)

So I bought the DX-50 wich is fantastic and upgraded all my music to FLAC. I am happy that the UE900 are high impedance and that the DX-50 seems to like it as well. The pairing is excellent. Still im switching between firmware to get the best sound. 1.2.2 and 1.2.3 for now. :) No amp for me because I don't want a big brick in my pocket! Portability please.

About tips, it's been almost a year that I roll between tips to get the most comfort and isolation. The provided tips are OK, but I don't know if it's my ear canal, I always felt that they were not well in place. Tried different Complys and It was the same: never get the proper fixed seal. Tried double flange: fail.

So I've looked at different threads of people experimenting with different tips with other iem. Customs made Universals one.

Bought recently the Ortofon replacement tips and they are long enough for the stem of the IEM and I get superior seal and a feel that they are firmly in place. And they are comfortable too! Hurray! (For a cost, but worth it)

Hope that my experience help UE900 users!

Next step: CIEM in a couple of years.

So now I wonder if it's defective or works as designed lol my impression is that the sound just isn't symmetrical if you know what I mean. I know sound shouldn't be identical on both sides but these sound a bit off.

I'm looking for something to keep earwax out of the UE900 pinhole.

The Tx Comply foams are one option although expensive. The other option I tested out are the filters I got with my HiFiman RE0.

They seem to fit very good, hopefully they stay put. Is it possible to order those filters separately? Does somebody know?

EDIT:

Found a pack with tips via Head-direct: http://www.head-direct.com/Products/?act=detail&id=33

Would be better and cheaper if the filters can be bought separately.
