Is it only the (entire) bass spectrum and mids (except upper mids) that are effected?  Because your pin hole might be blocked (you don't have to see the blockage for it to be there).  It inevitably get's blocked with your ear wax.  If the highs aren't effected (or sound louder), then I would have to say your pinhole got blocked (it'll happen with your new pair as well), the drivers aren't malfunctioning.

Nvm I had it at about 63 percent and now have to raise it to about 68 percent. I counted out the volume thing and there only 16 I thought they was 20

Is there no way to clean the pinhole?
You'd think they'd at least make the bores detachable for cleaning up to the filters, but i'd suppose that would compromise the rigidity of the whole design.

.....still don't understand the pin hole bore purpose.

 

I think we would generally agree that UE900 is "lite" on the bass side (relative to other IEM's).  So you buy this pair of balanced armature IEM's....and whether you like it or not, or find the bass adequate or not adequate, over a few hundred hours the bass will inevitably get lighter sounding??...having nothing to really do with any burn-in effect?

 

 And the speed to which this phenommenan happens will vary from person to person on how dirty or clean the IEM's are kept?

 

That's idiotic (unless I missed some reasoning for this)!

It's Logitech UE's marketing candy. :P Their 'patented dual-bore design'.

 

Has anyone published an impression of the sound post-pinhole blockage?

I'm assuming they probably won't accept returns on the fact that there is no viable way to clean the thing except push it in.

Hey mate, thanks for that, i did read one of your earlier pre-blockage impressions. Seems well interpreted, a little bass reduction to clear up the presentation of the mids, doesnt sound too bad. I found the tf10's had a tad too much bass and a tad too little in the mids, blocking the hole up sounds appealing right now.

I see you have the ex1000's as well, by chance do you happen to have a showdown between ex1000's and ue900's tucked away somewhere? Or perhaps you could give a quick rundown between the two, seems like a good face-off between similarly priced pieces.

Rin has published graphs of the pinhole effect. I'm on mobile right now, so can't really post the pic. I'm not sure if this was part of the intended design.

No one is sure about the pinhole purpose. We're unsure if it was part of the design or not either. It could be they got really lucky with it tongue.gif if you actually use the headphones for two weeks though, it actually does sound, and react like its burn in.

Currently, the only real way to clean it would be warm water (to melt the wax away, but not the nozzle).

I think your right the high don't seem to be effected. I wast increasing the volume by that much so it's dosnt bother me anymore. I did email them about the pin hole issue and they told me it was design like that on purpouse but I feel they just went ahead and told me that when I ask them if the sound Chang from the clogging of the pin hole was due to chance or not

Lol. If that CS rep is right (they rarely are) the. We would have your answer. These headphones gradually near the neutral field as time passes tongue.gif if the rep is wrong, this is a huge coincidence tongue.gif

Where else did you read about Other having volume issues with the 900 and was your 900 defective because of a voulme issu or because of something else?
