Can you rate them in the scale of 10?

Can't really do the rating out of 10 for you, no base rating :p  But I can answer your questions.  Vocal dynamics go to the 3.Ai in this case.  They can reach much higher than the 4s while maintaining the lushness the 4s offer.  Instrumental detailing goes to 4.Ai however, separation is really a toss up.  Separation is a weird one.  They both do separation, however, the 3.Ai offer a more artificial sound stage.  Although it's wider, some may not like the artificial one created by the V-shape.

  • Vocals: W4
  • Midrange detailing: W4
  • Midrange clarity: 3.Ai
  • Mid-bass quantity: 3.Ai
  • Sub-bass texturing: 3.Ai
  • Controlled treble: W4
  • Treble detailing: W4
  • Sparkling treble: 3.Ai

Both do very well with rock songs.  I think the main differences will actually come down to preferences.  So I just gave what is technically better than what at what level.  Take a look at the above and make a decision.  Also wait for other suggestions as well (some people may not agree with the above).

Can you also compare 3.Ai against Westone UM3X and 4R based on above criterias?
In term of wide and 3D sound stage and detail separation between vocal and instrument, who is the real winner?

I'm on mobile right now. So I cant do specifics. I have no UM3 to test. Vocal and detailing is done better by the 3.Ai. Separation is on par with both. 3.Ai takes sound stage.

How do you guys think the 3.ai's go with the Shure se425s? Completely demolishes them in every respect? Also, if there are any Australian owners here, how long did it take for them to reach your door?

Hi,

I make decission about buying Vsonic GR07 or Heir Audio 3.Ai. Which ones are better? I listening rock, reggae, hip-hop and pop. I have iPod with iMod with C&C BH portable amp. Thanks for your replies.

This might sound like a weird question, but how does the 4ai and 3ai stack up on low volume. I tend to naturally listen to music on low volume and some IEM's still maintain clarity even under low volume.

Also it seems that these cans from what I've read are mainly suited towards vocal songs like classic rock. I'm wondering how well they perform for EDM genres like trance. Just curious... might get the 4 ai in a couple months

Would anyone be able to tell me if the 3.Ai's are a worthwhile step up from the Sony xba-3's mainly with respect to bass, fit and comfort?  Really this thread has got me very tempted..

Thanks

Yes for bass. Yes for fit and comfort for me. However mine has cable issues (the pins do not fit in the iems properly, and sound keeps cutting out). Really frustrating for me. But sent it back at my own expense as it should be and hope it gets fixed fast, really a great sounding iem.

Thanks for the quick reply! I love my xba-3 but for me the fit has just never been bery tight or that comfortable and i also often find myself eq-ing my e17 and still wanting a bit more in the lower end. Ill still be doing a lot more reading but this is my top choice so far for an iem upgrade
