hmmm.

tt is a difficult question.

if i were to go for classical or vocal song. i will choose the 4Ai.

if i were to go for bass heavier song. i will choose the 3Ai.

If you cant live without much bass, better choose the 3Ai.

If you like absolute clarity and instrument separation, choose the 4Ai. 

Both are equally good earfones, it just come downs to the music preferences you prefer.

i tink i will prefer the 4Ai for now. cos i am leaning towards vocal for now.

if 1 day i decided to go back to bass heavy preference, i will choose the 3Ai.very_evil_smiley.gif

the choice is all urs biggrin.gif

Quick question, I noticed that the cable port isn't recessed on the 3.ai and the 4.ai

Do you think this will cause problems in the future? or would you say that they are fine, as long as I treat them carefully?

Agreed, I don't have any concerns about this either. My Merlins have recessed sockets which makes the cables a bit harder to remove but it's really not a big deal.

Which would be a better compliment to my Sennheiser IE8?  Although the IE8 is a bass heavy IEM like the 3.Ai, I don't consider it exciting like the 3.Ai.  

 

Should I just go for the 4.Ai and not look back?

For anything not depending on deep bass, the 4.Ai is great, if you plan on keeping the IE8 I say go for the 4.Ai.

I have had both and they compliment each other very well. But after a while of having both I had to part ways with the ie80. It is an awesome IEM just not as awesome as the 4.Ai(to my ears).^^if you are listening to bass dependent ie80 all the way, but once I found that magical seal with the 4.Ai I didn't find the bass to be lacking by any means. Just my two cents..

*Sorry just saw that you had ie8, I'm sure they're similar to ie80

One of my fellow danes sold off his IE80 after trying my 4.Ai's - he just ordered the 4.A.
