Beating Alabama did it, he was brilliant in that game. Having gaudy numbers, better than Tebow and Newton, in A&M's first year in the SEC, didn't hurt either. I think he deserved it, no one put more heart into their game this year. He lifted A&M onto his shoulders and led them, and that's what it's about, who is most valuable to their team. IMO, that's Manziel. This may not be his last Heisman and they'll be national title contenders next year.
Yeah, those are all good points. And it's clear this years field was not crowded with candidates. Still, I'd have loved to have seen a defender win it, being a former defensive end myself (in high school )
There was a scenario in which we (Northwestern) were going to have to play A&M in our Bowl game...VERY glad that didn't happen.
