IMO, that's Manziel. This may not be his last Heisman and they'll be national title contenders next year.

Yeah, those are all good points. And it's clear this years field was not crowded with candidates. Still, I'd have loved to have seen a defender win it, being a former defensive end myself (in high school biggrin.gif)

There was a scenario in which we (Northwestern) were going to have to play A&M in our Bowl game...VERY glad that didn't happen.

In other college football news, West Coast teams are having a terrible bowl season frown.gif

Let's see if The Cardinal can right the shippopcorn.gif

Great game, too bad LSU's D ran out of steam, but you can't expect a squad to play >100 snaps in a game. Big fail by their offense.

That was a GREAT game last night, man. I'm glad I was home and able to watch it!

Just about an hour to kickoff in the Gator Bowl, so I have to do it: GO U NU!!!!!

Like to see the BigTen have a decent day. MSU's win over TCU was impressive in that I didnt think they would be competetive, and Minnesota could have/should have won their bowl vs Texas Tech. The BTen is underdog in 4 of 5 bowls today - only my Cats are 2-point faves. So let the games begin!!!!

Really, NW hasn't won a bowl game in that long? Congrats on getting that monkey off your collective backs!

Thanks! We hadn't won a bowl game since the 1949 Rose Bowl. Had lost 9 in a row. NU didn't even play in a bowl from 1949-1995! Our having a competive football program is only something that has re-emerged in the last 20 years.

Congrats to the NU Wildcats, and except for the Spartans as well, the rest of the Big Ten bowlers fell short.

The SEC has been hit-or-miss, that So Car/Mich game was a hoot, best smash-mouth ball I've seen in many a year.

thanks! Im still very psyched we got that monkey off our back. The Big Ten going 2-5 in bowls is not good, but i will say that the conference did not suffer the massive embarrassment people were predicting. Michigan game SCar all it could handle, as did Wisco with Stanford. Minnesota really should have beaten Texas Tech, and Nebraska hung with GA for 3 Q. The final record was grim I agree, but the BigTen looked competitive with the other conferences to me.

I have to say I was not at all surprised by Louisville winning that game last night. Florida hasn't been very good on offense, and Louisville was undefeated until Bridgewater got hurt.

I also wouldn't be surprised at all if Alabama fares no better.

Tonight's K-State - Oregon game should be a hoot. Looking forward to it.

With how banged up Oregon's defense is, I expect a very high scoring game between the two.  Should be fun to watch as a fan.
