Those look rather smallish than I anticipated. Of course, it is an on-ear, but still. How are they on the head?

Knowing sony i expect these to be the same headphones like the older series , just with a different design very_evil_smiley.gif

didn't spend enough time w/ them but what i CAN say is the xb600 is very isolating for an on-ear, and also pretty damn comfortable.  bass wasn't as strong as i thought it would be, and in my limited experience mids/vocals may have been recessed a bit.  was kind of weird how different from the xb500s they sounded.  definitely don't think they were as muddy as the xb500s.  rock was actually pretty tolerable on them.

only tried them out a bit before finances (unfortunately) forced me to return them but they were pretty decent.  i probably wouldn't be the best to ask for more detailed opinions!

Good isolation for an on-ear and comfortable don't usually go hand in hand together, IME. If you still remember, how hard is the clamp?

For extreme bass are the Sony extra bass the best? How do they compare to the pro700 mk and the pro900?

These Sony have the bass pressure like no other.  You can feel it in your head.
