Just got the unboxing up on YouTube. I love how these look. Initial impressions are very good. If you like how Beats Solo HD sound you will like these. These sound cleaner than the old Beats Solo HD. More like the new Solo HD sound.

**** Update ***** NEW revised N-Tune 2013.

Do those "rims" inside the ear cups spin?  Not that spinnin' rims would personally float my boat, but for the market that those cans target, that would be a killer "feature" wouldn't it?  biggrin.gif

Are you interested in picking up an N-ERGY anytime soon?  I heard that those sound alright, even giving Turbines a run for their money...

I'm sorry, and no offense to anyone that likes them or designed them, but those are among the ugliest headphones I've seen to date.  Wow.  Just, awful.

I have to agree with you. It looks like a child's toy. The toy car rims on the side of the headphones just look horrible. I would be embarrassed to show myself in public with that on. There was a review that told people that these headphones were one of the worst sounding headphones since the beats. ;-;

Well they are Nick Cannon's cans.  That should explain just about everything.  biggrin.gif

Monster and good value shouldnt't be in the same sentence, these seems very nice and not that expensive, but you can do a lot better in SQ alone...

I haven't, but I have seen the prices of many Monster products, one doesn't make up for many overpriced products and I pretty sure these headphones doesn't sound any better than some Alessandro Ms1 or Sony V6.

So you haven't heard them, you just assume that they are overpriced?

Sorry for editing the last post, I haven't heard them but I have heard the beats solo that are more expensive and they sound boomy and lack clarity compared to my AKG  K518 which cost like three times less.

But yeah you are right I shouldn't make an statement without have hearing them first, they could possibly outmatch the new Sennheiser HD 700 for all that I know.

Beats tarnished the Monster brand in my mind.  Monster can actually release some great products.  They aren't the biggest value (like say Heir Audio), I would say they are priced competitively, but not a blatant rip off :p

A great value in my mind is a headphone that performs beyond the retail price by A LOT.  Like the V-Moda M80 IMO.

My definitions:

-Amazing performs well beyond its price point

-Great performs around (>=) its price point

-Compeititve - It's still close to the price point, but there are amazing values that will match its SQ

I would actually place the M80 at the great, not yet amazing.  It's slightly above its price point, but not enough like something like the B2.
