This will come with a sweet Telefunken 12AU7 smooth plate and a 5998 variant (Chatham 2399). --A killer combo ,no joke--

 

The upgraded volume pot allows for even channel distribution at low volume (the stock one wasn't that great).

The output caps made an a significant difference in the sound, smoothed things out just that little bit more...I understand that any further upgrades to this amp gets into serious "diminishing returns" territory.

 

Also, I should mention that this particular Crack with Speedball was the FIRST one anyone has ever owned! (I almost forgot about this). This unit was the production prototype that was sent to the Chicago CanJam by BH for demo purposes. I bought it, it was sent to me directly from CanJam. And I think I got it before anyone else even had their Speedball kits:)

 

This is an OTL amp that prefers high impedance headphones. 300-600 Ohm ideal. Sennheiser HD600 and HD650 are to die for on this, this is an excellent amp the the HD800 too (so I've read). I currently run Beyerdynamic T1, simply lovely.

Upgrade-itis! I now own a Leben CS300XS that I prefer to use instead.
