I have the HD800 and LCD2r1
I've never tried the LCD2r2 or LCD3
The T1 I tried at a show but in less than preferable conditions and not from what I use to listen to my HD800 and LCD2 atm.
From what I can say which is fairly limited since I only own and use 1 dac/amp setup right now, the LCD2 is the better pair for me.
I only have the ODAC+O2 and the HD800 with cardas cable.
I find it's a great setup but it's missing some of that lushness present with the LCD2.
I liked the HD800 a lot better with the WA22 amp at a show since it gave it some warmth and lushness that I think it needed while still keeping the crystal clarity that I love them for.post #19 of 1608/23/12 at 5:31pmQuote:Originally Posted by GL1TCH3D

the 800s are very picky about what amps you use them with.post #20 of 1608/23/12 at 5:35pmthinking about it I would vote for the t1 on the grounds that there good with almost anything, there not really picky about what amp you use them with, and they have a quality feel to them that makes them seem like they will last a long time.

So are the LCD-3s. The LCD-2s are great out of almost anything...but still do scale quite well with better upstream gear.

yep, your right.post #23 of 1608/23/12 at 5:51pmWho has listened to both the Audeze LCD-2R2 and the Audeze LCD-3?
Which one do you prefer? What kind of kind of music do you like / listen to?
Does the LCD-3 do a better job on treble? I find the LCD-2R2 lack them a bit.
What do they LCD-2R2 do better than the LCD-3? What the other way 'round?
Thanks for helping

I realize that.
I don't find my gear synergizes well with them but I can see potential in the HD800. I'm going to a meet this saturday where I'll hopefully get to try different dacs/amps that I would like better with the HD800.post #25 of 1608/23/12 at 6:02pm- preproman

I vote for the
HE-6 on Speaker Amps
post #26 of 1608/23/12 at 6:06pmThe T1 gets my vote, and I agree that it has the best balanced sound out of the lot with a high build quality.. The LCD2 sounds muddy and shut-in while the HD800 not only sounds analytical and bright but looks like a cheap piece of plastic with low build quality - certainly overpriced. Haven't heard the LCD3 though.

Have listened to the HD800 and have owned the LCD2 Rev1 until yesterday.
I do love the sound of the LCD2 Rev1 and also the design(looks...at least in the headphone department are important to me).
Out of curiosity I have bought some Fostex T50RP with the BMF 8.1 modification and a balanced Mogami cable.
These I received 2 days ago and after a couple of hours of listening, I put the Audeze on a local(NZ that is)trading site and sold them the same evening.
The Fostex are sort of "ugly" and I do miss the beauty of the LCD2s....but the Fostex have a midrange to die for!
Of course compared to the Audeze they fall short in terms of clarity/resolution and bass but that magic midrange is sooo addictive.
My goal now is a headphone with the Fostex's midrange and the resolution and bass quality of the Audeze.
Any ideas?

Really, I thought the mid-range was a bit of a weakness on the TH-900s. A bit sucked out like the D7000s. To my ears, the LCD-2's bass and midrange are spectacular.

I've only heard the HD800 at B&H through a Rolls HA43 amp, which was quite disappointing. I wish I could hear ANY of the poll headphones with a proper setup.
