What transport does Purrin use?

I've had quite a lot of troubles with my USB experience lately too and my issues were pretty much what he describes in his post (even worse, considering that the very fact of listening to music became painful at times...).

Yet, few month ago, I was able to eliminate all the issues (don't ask me how, I wish I knew why I messed up everything 2 weeks after...!!) and I could enjoy the best sound ever heard on my setup with the built-in USB-32. So good that I was questionning the fact it could get any better than what I heard. I'm still miles aways from that time, but things improve gradually...

This was with the NFB-27.

I never once used the USB input on the Master 7.  I didn't even load the driver.

I coulda sworn people said it was due this fall some time? I haven't personally talked to Steve though

He's using an Offramp 5 with the HDMI hynes regulator, but I don't think it has the ultraclocks

What USB-SPDIF converter were you using with it the whole time? Cause at this point I'm thinking I'm going to be spending alot of the money I had saved by buying the M7 instead of something more expensive getting myself an Offramp 6

As you know, I was always going to upgrade the converter anyway.  So the one I was using was a stop gap and did a really good job only using the AES / EBU output / input

DO you like it better than the Hydra-X?

Oh...

That's some bad experience, indeed!

Hex, Vega, newest version of the Forsell are dacs at this moment which I really would like to hear next to my Orion lite DAC. Similar price. And all seems to be very competitive in their category and a little higher.

Well my unit is delayed again due to some mistakes on the distributor's end.  The wait continues......this wouldn't hurt as bad if I wasn't completely without a desktop DAC hah.

Oh that is a shame, any new schedule for delivery?

I am still waiting for a shipping date.......

He told me that they accidentally shipped the unit to another dealer....-_-  Supposedly ordered another directly from Cees in Netherlands and will be here next week and then come directly to me.  We'll see how this holds up.  Maybe you'll get yours before me hah.

Well mine just got shipped.  I should have it soon, will be pairing with the Liquid Glass to get some impressions first.

Glad to hear more of you starting to acquire the Hex.  I've had mine for about a month now and it's been great.  My previous primary DAC was the Anedio D2 and it's about as different a DAC from the Hex as you can get sound-wise.  The Hex has a much more natural timbre and is easier on the ears for lengthy listening sessions.  I was afraid that the Hex may not match the areas in which the Anedio excels (soundstage, imaging, speed) but it has proved to be right there with it and with it's remarkably natural timbre, it's displaced the Anedio.

But it's also confirmed why I love the Anedio and will be keeping it.  The D2 punches WAY above it's price range, and I've auditioned a bunch of pricey DACs looking for a replacement before I settled on the Hex.

I've been reading good reports that this DAC is able to reproduce analogue sounds very well with claims that it even outputs vinyl like sound. This sounds great to me.

Can people with the HEX also confirm that it has microscopic detail and clarity and is silent/low noise? That's my only concern with it really.
