Audeze vs. Hifiman Orthos with respect to lisening taste - Page 2

+1 i agree with ur impression on the he500..its a lush velvetly sounding phone..he6 is more bright

no it isnt..its 5th on a list of more then 100 headphones..biggrin.gif  seriously...its all about personal taste...AND ALSO UR AMP..

I second this, and I own both the HE-6 and LCD-3 currently.

 I've long sold off my HE-500, so I can't quite compare it anymore; but to me, the HE-6 is a clear winner for anything acoustic in terms of planar headphones.

I don't. smile.gif Sold off my HE-6s about 2 months after my LCD-3s arrived. But, the HE-6s are in the top 5-6 list of headphones that I've heard ever.

I also,happen to agree with you ,on the He-6's

As I dont own or,have listened to, the lcd3,{but will soon},..I found I grab for the he-6,over my Lcd-2's any time some acoustic guitar is playing.

With some brighter electric guitar stuff,such as Albert Cumming,"Working man" cd...,things get a little over the top.

 

This is with my mj/gung combo

With the emo mni speaker amp,bass goes a bit deeper,but for overall sq,I use mj/gung...just prefer it's smoothness.

 

Guess it's just a matter of personnel sq preference?

haha and now, after all my doubting i have to agree. I think the LCD-3s are a better headphone then the HE-6s. But that doesnt detract from how awesome the HE-6s are at all. They are still one of the best headphones still being produced today, like i would probably go Sr-009 > LCD-3 > HE-6
