Im looking to upgrade my Zune HD to a better sound quality DAP, I was looking at the Sansa Clip +. Do you think this would  be a better sound quality upgrade? I don't care for anything fancy like a 1080p screen or camera or any of that rubish. Im going to be using the Sansa Clip + with the Fiio e9, and the akg q701. I was wondering would this be a decent setup. Zune Hd sounds great but i needs a better source for my akg q701.

In terms of power, going to the Clip+ might be a bit of a step down.  The Zunes are more powerful -- not by tons, but a bit.  But the Clip+ will give you a custimizable sound with the EQ, which Zune dropped some years ago (why??? some excuse about introducing distortion ...).  With the Q701 at 60+ ohms, you be needing most of the volume of the Clip+.  You could always partner the Clip+ with a portable amp for a power bump that the Q701 might need to sound its best.

I think a FiiO E11 would do wonders for a ZuneHD. A little bass boost and a whole lot of power, that you could take with you, unlike the E9. Pure sound quality without EQ though, Zune HD and Clip+ are pretty much even, IIRC. I had them both, a while back.
