I don't think I am willing to dish out $1.3k for an uber cable, would rather get a nice pair of CIEMs with that money :)

I've read up a bit on the Ref1 and they do seem pretty enticing. I may consider them although that would depend on selling my 1plus2 first.

What's the main source you're using with your 1Plus2? I've found sometimes the source can be the culprit  in causing sibilance.

What happens if you run them from the FiiO X1 for example? Any less sibilance.

I've ran them through all my DAPs. The 1p2 actually pairs horribly with the X1, strongly V-shaped with grating treble and sibilance. The only thing that works pleasantly are either through the GeekOut or my Rockboxed iPod 5th Gen with the addition of EQ. Pairing with the HM901 is quite amazing, it gives me the impression that i'm listening to a performance on stage, that is, until vocal sibilance creeps in and it breaks that awesome vibe. Turning the HM901 to Vintage mode does seem to help a little though.

Would you like to borrow a Tralucent T1 amp, try running that with some of the sources? I have one here and need to go to the post office tomorrow. If you want to take it for two weeks just send me a PM with your details.

Just wondering, did anyone try a custom sleeve for the 1plus2?

Hopefully you won't hold their stab at commercial success in the New Wave music pile (Missing Persons) against him...

But this was a one man show and sounded amazing..

a pic of his drum kit from the audience - pardon the quality

I know exactly how a bass drum, tom, snare and high hat should sound (always did, but a refresher is always nice) and I am furiously going through my cans to see who gets closest - lol...

A great show - some great stories between sessions (tunes) and a great crowd - If you have a chance to see this tour - get out there - you won't be disappointed.

The 1+2 does really well....

Back two years ago I had a chance audition a pre-edited native DSD file in a recording studio and the guy played through a pair of Adam A6x (each with twin-12" woofer) and the sound of breath taking.  Of course, listening it live is the only way to get the "actual feel".

Today's technology is amazing as now the IEM performance is just simply unbelievable.

I know there have been many posts on 1plus2 vs Roxanne, but I really once again have to ask which one suits me better if my playlist is mostly pop/easy listening and a little bit of rock.

Appreciate all the replies.

This might not be direct answer to your question but here's my impressions of the AKR03 (posted on the Ref.1 thread)...

"My friend lend me his AKR03 and had spent a week with it and not sure if his unit is faulty or just a characteristic of the AKR03...I felt like there is a layer of cloth between my ears and the music and especially on vocal the singer is singing behind that cloth.  The low end of the phones doesn't seem able to give layers of bass even though it is very solid and strong, the quality of bass just simply not in the same league as my Ref.1.

The end result of such impression was that I have taken my Sony Z1000 back to the office for daily use and wait for my Ref.1 return from this friend of mind tomorrow.

Should anyone has experience of the AKR03 comparing to the Ref.1 that I've mentioned above, I'd like to listen to what you'd say on the comparisons."
