Looks like the JVC tips are the way to go.

Don't feel bad. I bought 1p2, had a similar reaction to you, listened to it for less than 10 hours. Bought the Ref1 and tried to like it, I even pm'd a member letting him know I was selling it. Was getting ready to make a post, then I tried more tips... and it was magic. I'm quite sure tips were my issue with the 1p2 as well... we all make mistakes, just be happy you caught yours in time.

In the meantime you can stop by Radio Shack and try the Auvio hybrid tips. They're pretty good and $6 for 2 pair. JVC is better though.

For some strange reason my ear anatomy changed for like a week and those Heir Tips really did the trick. But once they started to wear in they were to slippery and didn't give the desired sound.

These tips below worked 2nd best for me and they are dirt cheap. I got the black ones.

I bought a bunch of new tips last night from Amazon. JLab Jbuds they were called. Mostly double flange, but I did order one set of triple flange to try.

warrior, if your JLabs tips are anything like these they won't work well on any Tralucents....the bore is too small, like Shure, and Westone size.

JLAB - JBuds Pro Tips: 3 Pair, Double flange noise isolating silicone replacement buds-style cushions. Universal for most earbuds/in-ear earphones 1 of 3

Damn... oh well. Thanks for the heads up. You know where I can get good double flange tips?

Yes, my man...MEElectronics has you covered...double flange, triple, you name it, for large bore IEM's like Tranlucents, TG334, Sennheiser, etc.

This is very interesting, a page back I was complaining about the 1+2 been sound flat, after change the comply tips to silicon tips, the sound stage opened up, and the missing tones are appeared now. the result is very obvious,  naturally it made me also changed the comply tips on my Mentor to Silicon, however the things I was proud of the Mentor are gone, now the mentor sound very bright, no bass, no more mellow vocals  instead it sound very harsh and lean. This tip thing is very interesting, it has so much impact on sound quality. I ordered the JVC, but they will not be here until the end of the month.

To have a proper room acoustic makes an average system sounds good without it regardless how good the system is won't sound good...same for your tips.

1Plus2 are 'super tip' sensitive, having the balanced armatures loaded right up near the nozzles end makes fairly crucial adjustments with different tips. Rhapsodio has a similar assembly with their hybrids. It's a good design because you're actually inserting the balanced armature very close to the eardrum and "inside the canal" to some extent.

How'd you compare the Rhapsodio with the 1Plus2

Well, it's a hard question because Rhapsodio has so many variations of their hybrid models. It seems they move onto something different as the wind changes.

Their "here today, gone tomorrow" policy is rather unique and bizarre.

Thr hybrid I have (with similar driver placment) is RDB Mini which at the time was my cheaper alternative to 1Plus2. I was originally going to purchase 1Plus2 though had a chance to demo RDB Mini, totally random. Completely different signature to 1Plus2 leaning much towards neutral in the low end, throw all that powerful dynamic bass impact 1Plus2 has out the window. The BA sections however sound much like the same family, that crisp slightly bright mid-range detail and clarity, also a little more coloured overall, the imaging is not the same though.

I still stand the RDB Mini has some of the best treble I have heard from an IEM, and the hybrid remains a reference point, if it means anything I saved about $600 and came away a happy man. to me the extra money for 1Plus2 wasn't worth the upgrade so one could say I settled at a point I could afford safetly.

Though end of the day 1Plus2 is still the best hybrid I have heard, Gavin's products excel past Rhapsodio, he just has more dedication and want for audio IMO.

A bunch of us went to the local hi end show... the best showroom was the super system of dcs vivaldi, naim statement pre+power, magico q7 and the full nordost power system (dozens of qv2. qk1 ) ... the demo blew our mind....

After the show, I left the exhibition with the AK240 + 1plus2 (uber) listening to some naim samplers... It just occurred to me Gavin really voiced towards this direction of high end sound....it gave me a reference of "good" or "bad"...

So I think I may stop complaining to him about his stuff being too expensive.... (probably not.... hehehe)
