No no no. To my ears the RDB+ v1 sounds similar to the 1Plus2.

The 2v1 OTOH, I wanted to compare that with the UERM but never got around to.

I don't know if Swimsonny's heard 2v1? (I could be wrong) I thought he was referring to the R^2 or some other IEM he was sent.

See, this is the problem, there's so many similar names for Rhapsodios IEM it causes lots of confusion.

Anyway, I don't really mind, my RDB+ v1 are long gone. I will say their new owner contacted me and loves them questioning why he spent $750 on JH13.

Unforntalely, I did not cherish them quite that much. Then again, I haven't heard JH13.

Ah gotcha. Damn names are too similar.

My view was that the 2v1 sounded better than how eke described them in the asg2 comparison thread. My interpretation is that he simply don't like this sound and cannot appreciate its merits (not unlike many others...)

It attempts yet another different "neutral" sound sig - largely flat while bright, non fatiguing treble, tight bass, clean analytical sound with delicate notes delivery. Good for low volume listening or even monitoring.

This is also not entirely my cup of tea but I would give credit where it is due and not make sweeping statement dissing something that is not made to my preference.

And of course 1plus2 is on a different level of sound tuning and refinement. The key attribute I like about both the fitear and tralucent (and maybe to lesser extend hifiman re600) is that the makers obviously put a lot more effort into tuning their product with a wide variety of materials and sources to make their end product superb sounding in most situation and not a cliche performer.

Good to hear. I most definitely agree with the above. I tend to gravitate towards gear that is more versatile across the board than being genre specific. I just don't have enough money to be catering to certain genres of music :P.

I've always looked at a product for genre as one that just couldn't play everything. Basically a classical device is one that can't play rock and vice versa. A VG Product should always sound good regardless of genre as long as the quality of input is good. Folks that really like music tend to like a wide range of genres once subjected to a level of performance that can deliver the message and intent of a performance. I can't look upon a IEM that is genre limited as VG.

Some quick impressions. The 1plus2 on tour did make it my way, so I figure it I should probably say a few things, throw in my 2 cents, etc. I'm not the type to write a lot of crap. Knowing that this is the appreciation thread, I will say that my impressions of it are favorable (which is rare for those who know me or who have possibly heard of my reputation as being a hater of sorts. I prefer to think that I'm being honest with myself.)

  • My impressions of the 1plus2 are actually favorable. Reminds me somewhat of the TG334 which I have heard and measured, but I like this better.
  • I don't know what cable I was using, but I do not like thick gauge cables which do not have the utmost in flexibility. I'm not into garden hose like flexibility.
  • The treble is tizzy at times with a peak at ~9k my best guess. This is generally not a bad spot and actually does help to bring about extra definition. Of course I would prefer it to not be there, but again, it's not annoying. (I found the TG334 to be more fatiguing.)
  • I would have preferred to have slightly less overall bass. But I understand the tuning. Most people love the thumping, especially with modern pop recordings. The tuning also happens to work for most classical, but I'm of the opinion that most classical recordings are too midrangy and lacking at the extremes. Most symphonies halls I've heard (including SF, LA) have had a lot more bass and treble than I hear in most classical recordings.
  • Integration of bass dynamic and BA for highs is very good! In comparison, the K3003 integration between the bass and treble is a complete joke compared to these. I really do like the sound of the dynamic driver. That extra bass texture is breath of fresh air having been listening to mostly armature IEMs for a while.

NIce thoughts. I'm guessing standard silver cable? Hopefully we'll see some measurements from you on these IEMs.

I'm extremely saddened right now, but I understand one can't be happy all the time.

Oh don't worry, after reading that comment, I'm sure they'll send it to you again just to try with the other cable for another 2 weeks.

Nice impressions Purrin. Looks as if we may hear things in a similar manner (to some extent).

Please, please, PLEASE, lee730, say you do NOT agree with purrin's very eloquent description of the K3003s. If you say you don't, I promise I won't admit publicly that Rin Choi is my ultimate hero, who, in his conclusion of his K3003 analysis said, among other things, "the AKG K3003 is a great IEM".

While I don't find the AKG3003 to be nearly as bad as Purrin does. I do agree with him on coherency. It was clearly an issue on the pair I had. But that doesn't mean I wasn't considering buying them because I indeed was. It was an aspect to the sound I did not like but that doesn't mean I didn't like the AKG3003 as a whole. I really did like them.

Please don't take offence (and I do mean it), but I knew almost word for word what your reply to my post would be.

Then why ask the question?
