Tralucent Audio 1Plus2 IEM Impressions Thread - Page 147

Back to my comment about 1+2 vs jh13 bass, 1+2 does have bit more quantity. I hadn't listened for a while and my ANV 3 was almost out of charge. Made it a bit fat sounding. Now charged up, I'd say the 1+2 still has a db or 2 more bass amplitude from memory.

Both are very much detailed. The 1Plus2s sound staging is more spacious IMO. The AKG is more on the neutral side. The treble on the AKG was a bit more edgier (brassy). The 1Plus2s treble is a bit smoother in presentation. No grain at all to the sound. I also prefer the bass on the 1Plus2 quite a bit more. Overall the sound is more cohesive and flows better.

Soundtere specifically said "Not the early versions but the later versions of both models". The K3003 loaner you tried was one of the early versions. (whether there are any real sonic differences between both versions is not yet 100% clear).

Has anyone tried using custom tips with these?

The problem with that is the shell housing is already so big that custom tips would likely make the shells stick out even further and look daft.

I could try my IE8 custom tips but not sure if it'll work.

@Cravenz yes I felt the V-moda bass did reduce the bass a little (more controlled IMO). With certain tips I've found the bass to indeed get out of hand. The subwoofer should never be in front of the band ;)...

Hey Lee

Yeh think mine's in the next batch. I have been away for a while. Busy times. Still enjoying the old versions so excited to here what the new ones sound like. I still like to visit the threads every once in a while.

With regards to tips I have a problem with seals. I keep smiling whenever I listen to the 1Plus2 and it ruins my seal since I use shallow insertion. Must be a design fault haha!

I can easily lose seal with most universals so I decided not to smile again in my life. But then I go read some fanboy thread and have à hard time not laughing out loud. So now I rely ony SE5. unbreakable seal...I could go scuba diving.
