Tralucent Audio 1Plus2 IEM Appreciation/Impressions Thread - Page 190

am...am... mazing, i love my ears, they never mistaken :-)

+ for 1plus2

today was to Elton John concert, wow.... after this i will not be able to listen to my rigs for several days...do not get me wrong, portable and high-end can produce very great sound but... when it comes to live music there is no speaker or IEM which would come close, even mega-mega buck speakers i heard pale in comparison. Elton was great as always but the real star today for me was his drummer Nigel Olsson, what a slam he gave, he rocked the concert hall, such drum energy, tight punchy incredible ... no no... i cannot even dream about this, will be missing live music energy power. next on my musical schedule is Roger Waters, a great old man and immaculate Pink Floyd papa, Shine On Your Crazy Diamond ... :-D

Lol;) The table took me pretty long ~

On the serious note, this is my 100% honesty, no bias to any IEM at all.  I just simply stated what my ears heard, that's all.

The review is too long and too poetry to be translated (>10000 words) :p

Always great to have more takes, even if I don't fully agree.wink_face.gif

Thank you for the kind word:)
If jh13 had some more mid/upper bass I would probably rate it above 90~
The resolution and details are amazing (a bit better than jh16 fp) with great smoothness~ but on some songs, I always feel the bass isn't in coherence with the rest of the spectrum, giving me this incomplete presentation.I would love a jh audio product that has the bass capacity between 13 and 16. Maybe jh14.5?tongue.gif

H200 is in the league of its own but will not come close to 1Plus2 ability to produce seamless 3D stage and analogue like fluidity, 1Plus2 has an excellent crossover frequence blending akin of expensive loudspeaker and it sounds so much natural that it frightens me.

i think every of them is a nice IEM but comparing them head to head makes little sense to me. i rather would read the comparison of 1Plus2 to ASG-2 or higher priced FitEars and similar. funnily for me 1Plus2 ticks so many boxes that i do not care much about comparing them because if music makes perfect sense through them why should i bother about competition?

I disagree about the value of head-to-head comparisons between IEMs of different price brackets.  A comparison doesn't mean that they have to be close in performance to be useful.  I think it can worthwhile as a means with which to form a point of reference, as well as a guide for determining the relative value of the improvements you get by going to a higher price bracket.

I understand that people are often considering IEMs within the same price range, so I don't discount the value of competitor shoot-outs.  The problem is that you can sometimes end up comparing differences that are so small that they end up appearing more significant to the reader than they are in real life.

lol love the graph tupac :P. Looks like the newer SE 5 isn't half bad then? I thought you would have given it a lower score from your comments earlier on it. I think it's back on my to get list then ;).

I also think price shouldn't prevent comparisons as we all know the diminishing returns on audio products... I like how 1plus2 sound and is waiting for Gavin's next batch of stock.  Having said that, the H-200 is actually a nice surprise for those of you who haven't had a chance to listen to it.  It wouldn't surprise me at all if people would pick the H-200 over 1plus2, especial for those who are not into super wide soundstanging. This is how crazy the diminishing return gets after the $300ish price point.

I'm very jealous of the head-fiers that live in places like Singapore or Hong Kong where they can actually go to stores and audition IEMs, instead of having to rely on reviews.

Curious about the new Denon hybrid and how that compares to the others in value.

Sometimes I think it can be easier on the reviewer if they only have a brief amount of time to audition an IEM (like a demo tour) to be able to compare it to something that allows for more contrast than something very similar (like the AKG3003 in the case of the 1plus2).

So true because you feel overwhelmed and rushed :P. Maybe even a bit of guilt to not upset the people who loaned you the gear (being nice when it could actually lead to being misleading). Then again I just call it as I hear it regardless is people like it or not. Better to be honest than buttering things up with bs :P.

Having stores that let you demo EVERYTHING is extremely hazardous to your wallets. Many of today's IEM are actually very good and can more than satisfy most enthusiast's listening needs. Standalone few would really complain or have an urge to upgrade. But when you can spend 3 hours doing nother but sit in a shop to listen to them one-by-one, you start to remember the best of each phones and imagine the right phone will have ALL these traits you liked and start heading down this bottomless hole....... for the longest of time I held off joinng HF trying to avoid the upgradetitis but it is furtile. Might as well come here to share.... LOL

Nope, I wouldn't.

Off topic, I only tempted to buy my first smart phone (iPhone 5) last X'mas.  Never owned any iPhone over their previous 4 generations.
