Seriously though, might take some getting used to but I prefer it slightly more intimate. Might have to do with the thickness of the silicone.

Well we'd also have to take into account the sources we use to drive our IEMs. They're very revealing of the source and I've had some not so savory pairings in the past.... But generally most gear I've tried sounded pretty good with them. Not as finicky as my 8As.

Is there any place to order the Heir tips either then from Heir? (ebay/amazon)?

Thanks!

Thank you sir.

That's great to hear! Are you satisfied listening to it straight from your Note 2? The only complaint I have with the iPhone 5 vs standalone DAP is that the iPhone 5 doesn't have a black background. It's usually not too much of a problem if I turn the volume up though.

Am I correct to assume Large Ortofon tips = Large Heir Tips? (I've read that the Large ortofon tips are actually closer to Medium silicone tips from other brands. Did you guys order Large? I wear medium for Complys.

Thanks again!

I'm definitely happy with it straight from my Note 2. Enjoy it more from my HDP at home obviously, but out and about, it's all good. Sound quality wise, I prefer the ortofon tips, but I have issues getting a seal. V-Moda tips give me a better seal. In regards to the Heir ones, I've ordered a medium and large, but I think I should have gone small as well. Can't advise on which matches which unfortunately.

I'm currently using the small V-Moda ones but I might move up a notch and see how it goes. With the ortofon ones, only the small works in my left ear, but my right ear can fit all three sizes with no seal issues.

I'll PM you my initial thoughts. It'll be a while before I get a full review in.

Thanks!

That seller doesn't ship to Canada =x

Anyone else know where to purchase Heir tips (ebay/amazon) that will ship to Canada? Going to contact the US Contact for Heir but I suspect they will be a lot more expensive directly from Heir.

No the large orthfoon tips are closer to medium and small tips of other brands.

Sort of 1/2 way between med and small. I always use med and they just fit with a deeper insertion. I can use the large as well.

Swapped back to the ortofons. Prefer the better sound isolation even if the seal ain't the best. Think I really hate memory stuff though. I reckon a more manageable cable would be lovely.

I second that about the cable, it seems more like a full headphone cable, very stiff, bulky, not for portable use around town, though it may be useful as a rope to escape a burning building for about 2' then jump!!!LOL!!!  I also have had the cable disconnect several times while adjusting the tips in my ear.

I've had the demo for 2 days now, my meelec full bass tips work best.    First impression I first noticed the clarity and effortlessness of the music.   Like breathing!   A huge upgrade from the 7750, like 3x the 7550 in all areas except bass which is probably exaggerated in the sony.  (I'm getting some tips off ebay recommended by Lee which might help with seal and bass)

The imaging and clarity is amazing, and while the soundstage is very big, the instruments and placement is not so scattered as to lose cohesiveness and I like that.   The preciseness has such a beautiful air and space as to make it seem like I'm not wearing IEMs!!! and the music is right here!!

I do have the AS2, a $600 purchase, which I"m still trying to "save", but the 1P2 makes them seem veiled and overy bassy.

I thought the cable a bit cumbersome as well but I'd live with it. Great sonic match.

Wow nice impressions... Yeah since I discovered those Heir tips (yes thank you H20-San ;), it's really opened them up. Made them balanced for me. I was having some fit issues on the right ear where I was feeling the presentation was more so tilted to the left. Quite annoying actually. Thing is I didn't always have that issue so wondering if my ear shape is changing. I hope not because I don't want to have fit issues with my 8As.... Anyways the presentation is very much full size headphone-like. An all out of head experience. The finesse, cohesiveness and accuracy is quite exhilarating. :)
