Tralucent Audio 1Plus2 IEM Appreciation/Impressions Thread - Page 116

Thought I'd share with you folks here that after having the 6 weeks with the 1Plus2, I've decided to part ways with it. I've probably not spent so much time on "working" on an IEM rather than just enjoying it. I've spent quite a bit of time burning it in to reduce the sibilance on the silver cables, even borrowed a silver/gold cable which improved the sibilance but didn't eliminate it, then having a loose driver (presumably the BA since the DD should be glued in) causing a vibration twang whenever I walk or if the cable brushes on something, had my Ortofon tips fall out or getting stuck in my ears, and the cable keep coming loose from the IEM.

Gavin has been immensely helpful in trying to help me appreciate the 1Plus2 but the end, I'd have to say it's taken more effort than enjoyment. But after 6 weeks I think I've given it more than a fair shot.

I'll still be lurking on this thread but will probably comment less or at the very least will be qualifying my comments with "based on memory" phrases.

What's your next IEM on the list? Personally, I am curious how ASG-2 sounds like.

Well my MH335DW should be ready later in the week. However I'm currently in a dilemma if I can live with a single IEM-pair strategy. Ideally I'm looking at a backup but that's quite nebulous. The potential list is as follows, ASG-2 (like you :D), Rhapsodio RDB+ (going through another revision due in March), Frogbeats C4, or just go nuts and book a flight to US for the UEPRM (but that will never happen ;-)).

Sticking to 335 sounds like an ideal plan. Isn't C4 similar to 4Ai? If so, then it's pretty good for its price.

I am pretty stumped as well, but it feels that as far as universal goes "I've done this, done that". For now anyways. Maybe time to start upgrading source? Do you still have RWA100 or have you parted your ways with it?

Anyhow, I hope you find "the one" IEM to rule them all :P

Hahahha :D. I know very little about the other IEMs (C4, 4Ai, UEPRM, ASG-2, etc) and will need to do some pretty serious reading and PMs. The 335 will help me ride out whilst doing the research. Or if I end up being so satisfied with the 335, then I may not need any backup :D.

I still have my RWAK100 and don't have any intentions to get rid of it anytime soon. It's the DX100 that I'm supposed to get rid of that I can't seem to do so.

Regarding the UEPRM, I think they're beginning to send smaller boxes? They say they can send all the way to AUS already so... yeah.

There are problems with that. There are mixed messages whether those smaller boxes will ever be available.

How is the isolation of the 1plus2?  I am quite keen on the 1plus2 and isolation is the remaining factor now.

I have the EX1000 (dislike the isolation) and have tried the TG334 (love the isolation).

Let's say on the scale of 1-5 where EX1000 is  2.5 and TG334 is a 4.5, where will the 1plus2 be?
