wow'd, shaken, and otherwise awe'd but not a wet cheek... :-)

 

i only tear up when given nurples...that's it...funerals, births, sappy commercials...i'm all good.. ;-)

You didn't hear it in lossless on my Studio V ;) lol.

 

My point is that pure emotion I was able to extract from this combo was amazing. I was lying in bed at the time as well listening at lower volumes.

 

Continuing to burn in the RWA AK100 but still not sure if its worth keeping or not....

hey, if it SQ at all costs then all the power to you...I for one, take other factors into consideration (size, build, UI, etc)...i am very pleased with the RWAK100 and it is only getting better...!

 

i have suspected this of you for a bit now Lee...SQ purist, if you will...i'm still on the fence about the 1+2 in some ways....a lot of compromises on a IEM....cable like 10g wire...not very attractive...big, unwieldy...questionable fit....all this despite the fact they sound outstanding....1+2 is bit like driving a race car on the street...awesome performance, but lousy comfort and practicality...just my opinion of course....  ;-)

lol I agree on the cable bit. The fit isn't as bad as I thought it was. I just wish they sat completely flush in my ears ;). I'm using my older silver cable from Tralucent which is much more pliable and unruly. Yet it doesn't feel like it will break anytime soon. It is much more flexible than the newer cable (which they reinforced even more for durability purposes). You are right I am a sound quality purist lol. But the Studio V happens to have less compromises than a Tera player and with the best battery life of all DAPs out there. UI is quite basic but easy to use none-the-less. :).

 

The fact that I'm able to get this sound from a unit that is slightly less than half the cost of the RWA AK100 on my 1Plus2s is shocking. So after this week of burning in if the RWA AK100 doesn't significantly improve from where it is right now. I'm gonna put it up for sale. I've got 1 buyer in line already so I know it'll move fast. I'll just save my money for an upgrade in the future. I think Hisound will be working on their "Master" player sometime next year so I'll just save up for that. :)

The source is what I am hassling about right now... I have the diymod+UHA-6S MKII rig currently.

I felt like it is missing something... it does not match up headphones well.

I'm thinking of getting Studio V before, but I am quite worried if I could handle its weak UI and hiss.

 

Here is my preposterous complaints:

 

dx100 C4, etc. Stupid (retarded) battery life - regardless how good they are, I won't buy them.

HifiMan DAP? nah. Never. I have hatred on them.

Tera player? €850 for that? you better be &^$# kidding me.

RWA AK100 - Doubt, Doubt, and Doubt. Nothing else.

 

Why is it so difficult to find a good source?

I could not find a portable source (at a reasonable/acceptable price) that would meet everything I need.

It's one of my concern too if there will be a revised version coming out soon,
But I asked the guy behind tralucent and he said it's going to be final.

iPod + AMP/DAC = hassle free UI
