Well the 1Plus2 has realistic bass body and it has more quality and control than the 334. It makes the 334s bass sound muddy and bloated in comparison. Preference also plays a roll but I chose quality over quantity :). Although the 1Plus2 does not lack quantity at all either. It has a noticeable amount more of quantity than the EX1000 does (which I consider boarder-line bass light). But the gold cable will add more quantity to the bass but it still will have great control over it. You do give up some of the sound stage though in return to more focus on the mids, bass and even slightly treble. More intimacy.

Nah my T1 amp is fully burned in. I've used it well over 400+ hours already. Anymore noted changes would be the IEMs themselves :). Others have mentioned a couple of periods where the 1Plus2s will suddenly become very dull and closed in. Then will bloom and be even more open and detailed than before. Also sound staging/imaging will be better. I've had that happen once so far where I felt things were extremely dull for a day.... But others have had it happen a couple times within the burn in period.

this is exactly what I thought about the bass.. controlled like my ex1000 before rolleyes.gif

I think owning the 334 will really make you think they are bass light! lol ;)

 

Still the EX1000 has one of the very best bass qualities of all dynamic IEMs (more so all IEMs period lol). I haven't heard the EX1000 in ages but my MDR-7550s bass is similar in quality. Just slightly lacking but has more quantity which is more to my preference in that regards. The 1Plus2 bass is noticeably better in terms of quality and control IMO. Still I think there is some room for improvement as I'm not past 250 hours so we'll see.

I can't say.. maybe.. the ex1000 cable is made of gold if i remember and I really enjoyed the bass very much controlled and articulate..

 

this is what's missing on BAs.. the natural feel of the bass of the DDs

Yes, I'm using the silver cable. I was wondering which to choose but I think the silver cable will suit me very well.

Yesterday I was using my Meier Quickstep, which is also new, and using the headphone output my iPad 2 and iPhone 5 as sources. I'm still awaiting a LOD cable.

Today I've switch to using my Beresford Caiman with Fidelity Audio PSU and using the SPDIF output of my PC as a source.

The 1+2's do sound very like full sized phones. 

A couple of niggles.

Firstly, I'm getting the occasional bust of what I think must be electrical interference. I don't get this with any of my other phones.

Secondly, the cable has tendancy to come away from the right earpiece. Not sure what to do about this.

 

Edit: Had a PM from Gavin in regards my second niggle suggesting that some adjustment to the memory wire in the cable near the earpiece may be required. The fit isn't quiet right on the right side so I think this will help. Thanks, Gavin.

 I had the same issue like you. The silver cable has memory effect and it is stiff enough... but you'll get used to it :)

I haven't had the interference problem yet... so I am not sure about that.

 

 

Btw, I found out that 1+2 is kinda picky on recording... lol   is it considered a down side of 1+2 ?  haha

It's not so much picky as it is revealing. So if your track is crap the 1Plus2 will butcher it. Shows you what is there :). Then again the source you pair it with can have some bearing on that.

Also I found out that 1+2 is so addictive to listen to when I have it sitting in on my ears properly.... lol  The bass... and guitar... oh man, excuse my shortage of vocab... I agree 1p2 is indeed special.. With tera player I could "feel" some very very low registered notes instead of hearing it.... pleasant surprise ;p

Both niggles seem to have receded in the last twenty hours. I suspect the interference may have been due to a poorly seated connection.

 

I went out yesterday and purchased a short dual phono to 3.5mm stereo jack cable so I could plug the Quickstep into the Caiman.

 

I'm sure the silver cable is the right choice for me. I don't require any more bottom end. I'm discovering bass in places I didn't know had much in the way of bass. 

 

The system's been playing some high quality Beethoven recordings for the last 10 hours and is sounding superb.
