Yep, I never thought I'd see the day when a universal could cost more then a custom IEM. These are crazy times we live in.

One of the first customs I wanted (and still want) to try is the Spiral SE 5-way from Poland! Back then it was in introductory pricing stages. C'mon Lee get this for me please!

But the MH335DW or Monet -are- customs!

Or were you referring to the 1Plus2 being more expensive than Unique Melody, Rooths, UEs, and JHAudio?

Anyway, I've received further pricing on the 1Plus2 that I have to be honest has deterred me further away from it. Each to their own naturally but personally for me, for this kind of price, I'm a little worried to spend on a new company with 1 product (ok 2 if you include it's amp). The new pricing has swayed far from the initial pricing just 2 months back. This worries me a little about baffled into how the company is thinking - my personal gut feeling is that it's more tactical pricing rather than strategic.

Funny how some of you think FitEar is expensive purely based on it's price, whilst I think how Tralucent is expensive for what I'd be investing into :D.

Anyway I'm sure there'll be lots of rebuttal to my comments above.

Sorry I should have been more clear I was referring to the 1Plus 2. The AKG K3003, FitEars 334 and some of the Final Audio offerings isn't exactly cheap either. Face it, mobile summit-fi no longer belongs to custom IEM's like it did a few years ago. It makes me wonder and worry how long it will be until we begin to see 4000 dollar CIEM's hitting the market.

The reason the price has gone up so much Anakchan is because the the parts and labor used are all quality. That means when you use expensive parts to build the IEM along with much longer build times it means prices have to go up. Otherwise there would be no point in him being in business if he has to take losses. This is not the same IEM at all. Completely redesigned. It is not only reflected in the price but the sound quality you get from these IEMs. More reviews will poor in and I hope that eases your mind but I don't see any reason to be worried about dealing with this company. The reviews will speak for themselves in the end along with the praises headfiers are giving the company regarding customer service.

Really ?!?

This coming from someone who just plunked down $895 on the unreviewed RWAK100....which was previously the universally panned iRiver AK100....talk about taking a risk...haha

lol I'm a little baffled myself. In the end we are all taking risks. But with iriver to be honest you are taking a much bigger risk just on how that company operates and blatantly lies to its customers (there is no trust in them).

It is understandable where you are coming from. Money is a concern that most of us share. FYI 'expensive' is a relative term but I doubt anyone here has suggested a FitEar being expensive whilst the Tralucent as not in the same paragraph unless they were referring to the older model 1Plus2 I suppose. But then again earlier on in the thread the $800 pricetag on the original 1Plus2 was even considered expensive by some (if I recall correctly they wanted something with dynamics drivers etc for <$700 or so).

Still my gut doubts that Tralucent jacked up price and pretended to make changes to the 1Plus2 whilst keeping all internals the same to make a quick buck, labeling it a 'new version'. Or are you saying the new versions price has jumped from the $1295 pricetag earlier on to something else (and that is what you are worried about)?

And please don't see this thread as people taking sides. We are all trying to enjoy music in our own way - there is no debate, merely conversation and perhaps constructive criticism. I hope you find what are looking for. Wow do I sound like a Zen Master or what?!!

lol. :)

I can confirm the changes myself. At least from what I see inside in comparison the older model looks empty in comparison lol. I think you are really gonna enjoy them nk77. I'm still torn on which cable to stick to though....

Compare MH335DW to other IEM companys like UM, UE, JHAudio, etc... They all were using BA drivers (different series) , and the only difference to me personally as a nooby is the tuning.

Throughout the IEM marketplace, there is not much Hybrid IEMs that has a remarkable sound signature. Tralucent Audio is still new and most people are unfamiliar with them. It is small company but overall I think the price for 1Plus2 is at least reasonable than MH335DW. I will try out the MH335DW possibly in the future. FitEar products definitely look attractive.

Well UM also has a new IEM that is over $2000.00. But I didn't hear all favorable reviews on it in particular though. So YMWV.

This is coming from someone who knows iRiver & RWA are established companies for some time. Looks like you're not understanding my perspective ;-).

Tralucent is a new company with a 3 month old product that has been revised a couple of times & had pricing changed at least once & charges premium prices like an established business.

I don't mind spending money (especially if I'm considering the MH335DW or Monet!!) but in a mature company...same with RWA as I see the RWAK100 as a RWA-endorsed product (more so than seeing it as an iRiver product).

Note, I'm not knocking Tralucent forever...but, with that $$$ I'd rather spend elsewhere & wait for it to see if it matures. Very happy to have the rest of you be guinea pigs.1-2 years later if Tralucent's product list blossoms, pricing stabilize, & prove its worth amongst its peers, I may well be a Tralucent customer. Just not for now.

What a commotion this is! But I agree with AnakChan.
