Good budget amp/dac for Sennheiser HD800 (<$800)

Hi all, I am planning to get the HD800's in a couple weeks and am going crazy at trying to find out what amp/dac combo I need to use these things at an acceptable level! I don't expect maximum clarity or resolution but I do want to be able to enjoy the HD800's for what they are.

 

I have a budget of about $700-$850 for both an Amp/DAC. Any recommendations?

The Schiit AMP/DAC are good match with HD800 and also Matrix Quattro are recommended too.

Would the Schiit Asgard/Bifrost combo be a better match than the Nuforce HDP?

Yes because they are separate dedicated Amplifiers and DAC units and Nuforce HDP is single unit, too me HDP good AMPs/DAC for desktop use but it's not huge upgrade.

They ARE high end headphones and NEED high-end frontend. It's pointless to use such fine and expensive gear it you can not drive it to it's full potential. Buy K701 instead! :)

You're better off buying the headphones before the equipment.
