Jumping between the Fostex HP-A8 & the DX100 since they're the only devices I have with dual jacks.

I found the SDJ not clamping even after hours of wearing since the headband is quite wide.  I usually wear them on the road, with the isolation against the traffic noises, they are great.  Stage sound still is very wide when listening to concerts e.g. Adele - Live at the Royal Albert Hall.  You can really imagine that you are really there, being part of the concert.

For sure. It's a super bassy can, at least on a desktop amp.
Your sub-bass crazy guys will still complain I would imagine. It's a Pro900 style bass (more mid-bass leaning). Not surprising there.

Sound wise I think the TH-900 wins for best overall basshead can. Granted it's more spendy, not portable, limited isolation, etc etc. It's way brighter than the SDJ. I'm sure some would prefer the SDJ in that regard. You can't beat the bass though.

YMMV
Edit: Mine were wired out of phase. I have to take back my bass comments.

Thanks.  Thinking about SDJ or Yamaha PRO 500 for a closed portable in addition to my M-100 which is fantastic.

Thanks for your impressions, m2man.

Did you ever get a chance to listen to the Signature Pro? I might have a chance to listen to those but I doubt I'd ever be able to listen to the SigDJ without purchasing.

Though I think I'm just gonna grab some Sig DJs and hope I like them. Since RMC is going to stop carrying Ultrasones, I doubt we are going to see them for this price ever again in the US.

To Craigster: I also just purchased some used M100s from a member here (for portable use) so if I end up getting the DJ's I'll be sure to share my thoughts on the two as I know you would be interested as you seem to be in the same situation as me.

The comparison would be great.  When is RMC going to stop selling Ultrasone????????

I have heard the Sig Pro and like them so much that I am confident I will like the Sig DJ, especially since they have more bass than the Pro, even though the Pro is certainly not bass shy.

As soon as they sell out of their remaining inventory.

I guess they have been fighting with Ultrasone on their pricing policies and they don't want to deal with them anymore.

From their FB and Twitter

"Our battle with Ultrasone's pricing policies is over. They won we are blowing everything out. Get it while it lasts."

Same thing happened with NS&L (Northern Sound & Light) years ago.  Get 'em while you can.

If this had been the SDJ's I would have been so mad at you!

Ordered mine.

edit: And if I get the SDJ and decide I would have liked the SP more then I'll still be mad at you. Watch your back, Levaix! wink_face.gif

Don't worry Craigster...

There might be one or two Sig Djs in the Classifieds at a similar or better price one of these days... (or at least that's what I hope for! :-p)

It's all good.  I am glad AngryGuy got them since he is the one that let me know about RMC closing out Ultrasone in the first place.
