Before I bought my signature DJ , I have heard many times my friend signature Pro

I don't like the sound quality from signature pro , sound so much different to my ed 8 ruthenium .
Like I heard from hollow room and so congested .

These two ed 8 and signature DJ sound zig about the same as ultrasone sound characteristic
Very fun sounding headphones , but the signature pro not so

Thanks for your impressions!

Now I have the Sig Djs on my sight once again along with the AKG267 which I'd like to just try... Maybe I should just sell my HD600s since I'm not using them as much... :-p

Thanks.

RMC provides a very good deal (great discount from the listed price). But you have to ask them through an email and they will quote a great price to you. Good service also from RMC.
Using Hifiman 603 really able to deliver clear and wide sound stage music especially listening to Les Miserables 25th Anniversary ripped from DVD as flac 24bit. A great portable entertainment set up.
Right now waiting for the Oyaide copper cable for an upgrade of the original cable and Hifiman 901 for the upgrade of the 603.

Has anyone who has tried the Signature DJ's also tried either the Denon D5000 or D7000? I searched through the thread but couldn't find anything. I'm curious about comparisons between them.

I've been sort of unsatisfied with all the recent headphones that I've tried (which has been quite a few) and I'm thinking about giving either the DJ's or the D5000's a shot. I'm hesistant to pay the used prices for Denon's discontinued headphones and if the DJ's can offer better bass and sound for not much more then I'd rather do that. The only thing holding me back is I'm not really fond of closed headphones with tight clamping and high isolation which I know these have. I have no use for such isolation and the feeling can really start to bother me. Much prefer the Denon's semi-closed feel.

If you don't like clamping or isolation, it's really hard to recommend a lot of Ultrasones... Maybe just stick around and see how much the Fostex TH600 is going to run.

Got a used Signature PRO 2 days ago. I have zero clamping force issues over here and I have a large head. And btw I amend those issues myself by bending the phones headbands carefully. Done this to: Sennheiser HD 650, Beyerdynamic T70p, DT1350, Ultrasone HFI 2400, PRO 550, PRO 900, PRO 2900. SONY MDR1 was ok without bending, AKG K401 was a perfect can without any modifications. And I never destroyed any headband

Any sound comparisons to your excellent collection?

AnakChan: What amp/dac were you using during your review?

Levaix: My SDJ's took a while to break in. At the end I left them outside in the 20's playing all night. Luckily I live in the hills. I swear it helped.

AngryGuy: The mids/highs are much nicer on the SDJ than with the Denon D5000. I always thought the D5000 was "crunchy". The Denon's seem to vary as much as the Ultrasones, but my D5000's have less bass than the SDJ. The D5000's and D7000's also have more sub-bass than the SDJ FR. The FR on the SDJ rolls off a smidge in comparison to the Denon's. That's the way I hear it at least.

The 2 D7000's I've heard sounded drastically different. Much nicer mids & highs and bass was super heavy on one, and nice on the other.

@m2man- do you consider the SDJ to provide "basshead" caliber bass?
