I'm like you I like treble as well the sig djs have more than enough treble for me, it seems the djs had more meat to the bones when compared to the pros for me, a more visceral sound that I like makes my elears sound soft in comparison.
Why would you form that conclusion? They have very different drivers in both size and material, different SPL, different frequency range (for what that is worth), they are not the same headphone in a different coloured ear cup with the bass turned/tuned up on the DJ.

On some, had mine for about 2 and a half years and haven't had a problem because when I'm done with them I store them back in case. Not sure about the cables I use the stock cables that come with them.
Does anyone who has owned both the Pro900 and sig dj know if the pads' ear holes are the same size? I currently have the Pro 900s and really like them with the exception of my ears not really fitting inside the pads comfortably. The pics of the sig dj look like they might have larger diameter ear holes.

I owned the Pro900 and auditioned gelocks' Sig DJ - the pads on the DJ were smaller and overall comfort was in the favor of the Pro900. That was the only gripe I had with the Sig DJ - headband comfort made me want to rip it off my head after 45 minutes.

Still Saving up for the Sig DJs. I currently have an ADL Stride headphone amp. Hope that will be enough to make them shine. I have read numerous things about the pads wearing out, so I intend to get a good headphone stand to put them on when not in use and in the case as well. Always. If I am super impressed with the sound (which I very much hope to be) I may buy an extra set of pads down the road just to be safe directly from Ultrasone. Also fully prepared to slowly push in the headband down to reduce the strong clamp. Had to do the same thing with me Performance 880's. By the way, guys and gals, I upgraded my 880's to a Moon Audio Blue Dragon and holy shmokes. What an improvement!

One piece of advice: You should be able to use HM5 leather pads with Signature Dj.
You might really like the combination when you test it, and even if Ultrasone's original pads are better, HM5 are pretty cheap and well regarded, so you can't really lose much by trying.
I am also saving up to buy Signature DJs as I'm curious about them, but for the time being I have Ultrasone Dj One Pro which is pretty good for their price (200$)
I was wondering if I should pass through Performance 880 or Pro900 before getting Signature DJ, but Signature Dj looks like the safest bet for me at the moment. Need something over the ears with a similar signature to ie800 and performance 880 doesn't seem like it would cut it. Pro900 might be good enough though.
880's are a bit bass shy. Not that their bass is bad, just not a lot of quantity. I quite love them and will probably keep them for a different sound signature to go along with the DJ's. I will probably be getting mine in April. If you get yours before then let us know how you like them!

You made the right decision. I used to own both the Sig Pro and DJ and got rid of the Pro because the DJ had way better sub-bass and sparkle up top. Not that the Pro is bad, but it's the more boring of the two.
