I will not recommend them over the Ultrasones sound wise, but comfort wise, they are light years ahead. I am wearing glasses too like you. It is all about the pads my friend, this is where the comfort lies. Those Bose pads, you can wear forever, you forget that you have headphones on...I do not own the new Performance series, but I guess the comfort improved a lot on these.

Interesting. I can't see myself selling my SDJs, sound is too perfect :) But after more reading it definitely looks like the new Perf series have improved comfort - and the 880s come with a set of velour pads too which would be great especially in warmer weather. Very tempted..

Damn, I should never have come back on headfi hahahah

Coming back is indeed a cardinal error ;-)

Yes, the new series is quite nice, but I don't think they are as robust as the Sig DJ. Did only try the 880 for a short time at a fair. Rather lightweight, cups could be a bit deeper. Sound was OK, but did not get me interested in owning a pair.

Really, I guess that would make sense, just I've never witnessed such a thing so it had me confused.  Thanks for the explanation bud, really appreciate it!

Hey guys,

Haven't posted here in ages. Had my SigDJs for 6mths+ now and hardly been on headfi in that time. They are just perfect headphones for me sound-sig wise.

Plus portable and durable, took them with me in my overseas move from Australia to Canada a few months ago whilst I had to let my TH600s go.

The only thing is for long listening sessions (all day office wear), they do get a bit uncomfortable at times. I think a lot of it is to do with my glasses and the clamp. Without glasses I could probably wear them forever. Even if I shift my frames up to the top of the pads I still have to readjust quite frequently or take breaks. Which probably isn't a bad thing.

Anyways, was just wondering if anyone has any suggestions (different pads?), or if anyone can compare Sig DJs to Pandora Hope VI? I've been interested in those for a while. But also heard reports of bad comfort issues (which could actually be worse, such as the headband). I saw some guys are replacing those pads with Lawton Denon pads in the PHVI forum. It's a pity the new Sony Z7s don't seem to have the signature I'm after similar to the SigsDJ (but nothing does right..). Because they look mighty comfy.

Either way these are keepers, I'm just thinking about a possible complimentary pair in future.

The Hope VIs to me were even more uncomfortable than the Sig DJs... but they actually had other pads (I think). Haven't really follow the thread anymore! I did liked the sound though, one of the best I've tried this year actually, but too uncomfortable for me.

Perf 880 is indeed a bit more comfortable but the sound is not as good to my ears as the Sig DJs. :)

Yeah I heard about that with the Pandoras.. though seems people have been able to put other pads on like the Lawton Denon angled pads for much improved comfort and similar sound
