Lol. Back. Still listening to them.

Already at 5 hours burn in lol.

These things are DANGEROUS!
All i want to do is turn them up!!!

Im completely stunned by how good these sound. And i never knew headphones could put out so much bass impact!

And thats run by an e11...

Cant wait to see how a decent amp improves it even more.

I just attended my first headphone meet and it was an enlightening experience.  Most of the headphones were open, summit-fi such as Audeze, Stax, Abyss, Sennheiser, Hifiman, etc.  It was interesting to compare the Sig DJ to those.  Certainly as a collective comparison, mids were more forward, resolution was higher, soundstage was bigger, etc.  However, the differences were less dramatic than I expected and NONE could touch the bass presence and impact of the Sig DJ, so I would say after attending I am satisfied that I own the best basshead headphone made today.  However, I may need yet another headphone that is more neutral and the Alpha Dog would be a fantastic complement to the Sig DJ. Also, there were several "WOW's" from those who tried my Sig DJs.

Think you'd like the Alpha as with good, powerful amping they satisfy a basshead. Really. Have you been reading the Alpha thread recently? My impressions of my audition with them are posted. Surprising.

I will have to check those out, but I won't be surprised if the reviews are glowing.

I seem to be one of the few posting detailed positive impressions.

The feedback I have is with vintage amping, albeit very powerful and with bass boosted, the Alpha is a phone I would buy and am considering it very seriously. Never thought after my less than impressive results with the Mad Dog that I'd feel this way but they sound amazing.

At least for me, even though I don't find the Alpha Dogs bassy due to source I use, they are DEFINITELY keepers! Between the ADs, DJs, on-ear Momentums, etc. I think I have what I need and have everything "covered". But the DJs are still in "another league" which is why I was interested in Ultrasone Edition 5's as well, until I saw the price... Jeez...

Hey guys, are there any specific ways to tell if your listening too loud?

I usually just plug it straight into my phone to see how loud it is at 50%, then plug it into my amp and adjust so that its just a little quieter (because it naturally sounds a bit quieter at the same volume because of the extra clarity)

Then i just listen at 50%... Under that the bass seems to get quieter faster in comparation to the treble ect.
