That's a tube amp, and will sound quite different from an SS amp like the Magni. I had the Lyr, and now the Magni. Very different.

is the bass on these more impactful (mid) or boomy sub bass... are they quite airy/immersive in order to make trance sound amazing? hopefully it has more bass impact than xb700

also, these will be fine with e17 right?

need these answered before i pull the trigger for $350 shipped

Damn I'm growing impatient allready! Does anyone know where to get these for cheap in the netherlands? Or someone who has discount codes for the philips page.

You're still looking?  Just a week ago, you were in the AKG K167 / 267 threads, then the HifiMAN threads and now the Philips threads.  If you buy them for $350.00, just make sure the place you buy them has a return policy.  Then, buy them.  After you've gotten some perspective of them, come back to the forum and post your observations.

yeah lol, i went into a local store and tried out he-400's, k701 and a few others so that changed a few things... I scratched out the k167/267's a while back since open back is the sound im going for.. at this point its either he-400's or the philips.. but tbh i've came to the realization that even within the same headphones different people may have even opposing opinions on very fundamental things.. quite bizarre but i guess their experience/mood/amp/source and genre of music they listen to influences their opinion. I've learned to just listen to what the "majority" say since I tend to label the minorities as just outliers, that makes things much easier.

^ Don't rule out the often overlooked factor, audio physiology. We listen for different purposes, different things provides listeners enjoyment, some listen for the sake of getting as big impact from the bass as possible, others want to feel they are attaining a live concert. Some may focusing on hearing all the tiny details as clearly as possible etc why we prioritize different things or we even want to hear things differently based on what we want to experience.

^Exactly, that why I prefer my hd518 over the hd700 for example. The hd518 pulls you in the music while the 700 has a sharp treble which cuts my eardrums.

Here in America, I'm just hoping that we start seeing these on the shelves of our retailers and on-line vendors.  There are some options that exist when ordering them from another country that ships into the United States.  But, our vendors need to be selling them, too.  I'm sure it will be soon.  This will be interesting.  It appears like a very well built headphone.  I'd love to have it now for a comparison to my HE-400s.

Noooo, approximate shipping date is 3rd of January frown.gif

I don't know how long it took to the L1 to get into the US, but now they've surely missed some profit in the holiday season by not bringing the X1...

You are quite correct.  Instead, many parents have gone ahead and purchased some Beats for their kids.  Actually, when I went into Best Buy the other evening to pick up a camera I had ordered, the counter where I picked my item up, had a serious number of Beats behind the counter.  The must be tossing those things out left and right to unsuspecting shoppers.

Yeah, I guess the most useful information you can get here is from an experienced reviewer who is most importantly consistent throughout all of his reviews, that AND you have to make sure you have similar standards as him like define bass heavy, define harsh.. it's all subjective, so maybe if you read one of his reviews and completely agree.. then it's safe to say all of his other reviews would be incredibly useful/relevant to you personally

Hi,

I was looking at a German forum (via google translate) and I've found some graphs if anyone interested.

Edit: That person did a little mod too..

PS.I wan't to order them tomorow via amazon...it will be around €232 with regular shipping....

On the product page it says €198, but on the checkout it is €207, plus shipping...still good price though.
