[New] Philips Fidelio X1 - Page 263

Which song do you think represents X1 in the best light ?

If, for example, you would like to hear them in all their glory?

I know it's a personal thing, but maybe some particular song caught your attention especially...

Stevie Wonder - "Superstition" is one that I've been playing a lot lately, love how it sounds on the X1.

Just got a used excellent condition pair for $200, with the v'moda 80 aftermarket cable and the 3.5mm adapter.

Do you guys think it is a good deal? :)

Nice, I like the sound of UB40 - Kingston Town and Led Zeppelin - Rock and Roll.

The bass on that sounds amazing on ns 1000 though are these just bass monsters or do they have also a clean crisp crystal clear detailed sound that matches well with for example

I went through the Daft Punk phase when the the album first dropped.  Do yourself a favor and get a lossless copy of it, these cans will blow you away.  Turn it up and just drift away.

Side note: Anyone recommend any IEM's that have similar characteristics to the X1's.  Unhappy with my UE500's and Sennheisers.

You ever tried comply tips on sennheisers ? you talking about IE6 IE8 ?

Joy Division sounds great on the X1. The bass is full and provides a good foundation. The vocals and midrange are just right, not forward or recessed. The X1 works well for most genres of music.

That's a great deal. Sounds better than most $200+ phones I've tried.

... SWAG HOED UP!!!

You have to have patience and use a great deal of restraint when you are tucking the end parts of dem hoes in. So how was i able to do it and what secret technique did i use??? You would have to use this magical tool that only i possess, if you want them i can sell one to ya' for $100s a pop. ;)

Or i can just post a pic of them and have you clever peps figure it out.

... here's my finger to all this flipping cable talk!!!

... the rounded edge of this magical lil' tool is perfect to tuck the cut ends of dem hoes into the tiny crevice of the pads. You don't wanna use something that is sharp or really pointy cuz it will most likely poke holes into the fabric cover of the drivers.

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
That's the rounded end of the nail clipper if you people really have no clue what it is. LoL

It's the top piece that flips out and holds the filer in place NOT THE ACTUAL FILER ITSELF CUZ THAT IS TOO POINTY!!!

I finally got some hoes and managed to get them cut and put onto my X1 pads. A huge sigh of relief now knowing that they are somewhat protected. Thanks for your incentive!

Btw, I see now that I need better hoes, and that I need to put more effort in to get them tucked in like you did. My hoes are pretty thin and unlike the hoes in your pics, so although I am happy with my hoe job, I will be going on another mission for yet more superior hoe-age lol.

Glad someone appreciates them though, and that they are in a good home. :)

But i have a feelings that's all gonna change REAL soon when those Martin Logan 90s arrives. hoho

Then it is off to the chopping block for those X1s. ;)

For those interested in knowing some values of cable resistance "Ohm"

Philips Fidelio X1 stock cable - 3m: 2.4 Ohm

Fisual S-Flex mini - 3m: 1.8 Ohm

FAW Color Series HPC - 2m: 0.9 Ohm

V-Moda Audio Only Cable - 1.8m: 0.8 Ohm (this value was given to me by those who work there via email)

I think to have a cable with 0.5 Ohm or less he have to buy a shorter cable...
