I purchased earpad covers off of Amazon. I'm not going to let my X1's die anytime soon!

Received my Amazon Gold Box X1s recently too. I've only had a chance to try them a few times, but I'm really liking them!

One of the most welcome aspects is the comfort.  They just barely fit me without need for the bending-mod, but what I love about them is that they simply go on where they're supposed to and stay put.  The Annies, in contrast, have a bit of front-to-back play when I move my head and I have to occasionally readjust them back over my ears.  Also, lighter-weight though the Annies are, the leather band can start to irritate the top of my head after a few hours, whereas the padding here on the X1s absorbs the weight so nicely that I have yet to have any soreness there at all.

I'm looking to keep my X1s in top condition also. Do you by any chance have the link to the earpad covers that you're getting?

Thanks. Do you know if these earpads will affect the sound of the X1s in any way?

No because you will have to cut open the middle so your ear fits inside. Comes in a pack of 100 so no big deal considering they will save your ear pads from an early death.

Intriguing. If you'd be so kind, please be sure to post pics when you get them set up on your X1. At $22 for far more headphone covers than I'll ever need in one lifetime, I'm disinclined to buy, but if they end up being a perfect match for the X1, I suppose it would be well worth it.

Very nice stand indeed! That's a very sexy rig I must say. I may also need to splurge on that stand for my X1's, since i got such a great deal on them :P I would probably let them hang from the upper metal part though, so the elastic doesn't get unnecessarily stretched - right? Maybe thats a silly idea…

Also - what amp is that you have them plugged into? I don't recall seeing it ever before.

I tried to hang them from the top band but the bottom band hits the lower extension part where the curved bit of the stand sits so won't work so well and needs 2 hands to remove at times too. The pressure applied to the band isn't that much anyway resting from the bottom band, it's springy and only goes down about 1cm no no big deal :)

The amp is a NAD D 3020 btw.

What cable is that? Looks awesome, has it added to the sound?

Thanks

don't worry, just read back a page and found out

There's little or no difference to sound compared to other 3rd party cables but the stock cable does seem to colour the sound differently a bit, the stereo imaging isn't as wide feeling. That's due to the high resistance I guess.

These headphones ruined my perception of integrated soundcard as being something good

Now I hear its noise while sound is muted... I wonder if this will vanish once I get Modi&Magni....

Has anyone paired this with the X1 and got nice results? It's well within my limit for a nice amp to pair with these, a DAC will have to come later!
