I have both the MA900 and X1s which i recently bought. Im in Mexico right now and returning tomorrow to LA, so I have not had the chance of trying them out.

And yeah...i was thinking of selling the MA900, getting the Annies instead and keeping the X1s. We shall see lol

Hi,

I have the Denon d2000 since 2011, using it with a fiio e17. This phone has always served me very well, my use is to play games and hear music.

I was reading some review on the Fidelio X1 and I was very interested in the project, I am quite inclined to buy one. The problem is that I'm afraid to disappoint me and he would not be as good as the Denon d2000.

Has anyone had the opportunity to test both? It's worth buying a Fidelio x1 already having a D2000 or its a waste of time?

Any comments are welcome!

Sorry for my English, its not my first language.

Thank you!

I have both.  They are more similar than they are different.  of course the D2000 has deeper bass and sub bass.  The treble might be a bit warmer on the X1 but other than that they are quite comparable.

So I think that is not worth it I buy a x1... To end with something near to what I already have.

Thanks for the reply!

i haven't spent much time comparing the two, but i would agree.

i wasn't going to buy the X1...my plan was to save up for a planar (LCD 2/3). now that i have the X1, i think my original plan was the right way to go. the amazon goldbox deal was just too good to pass up...and i'm happy to keep them at that price. but i definitely would not have bought them at regular price, having the D2000 already.

of course, that is not to say the X1 is not a great headphone, and worth their regular price! if i didn't have the D2000, then X1 would happily take their place! they're just not different enough to the D2000 for me to justify (and i prefer the D2000).

personally, i would spend a bit more and get HE-400...or jump straight to an LCD 2/3 or something. that's my plan anyway!

My V-MODA BoomPro Mic showed up yesterday (finally!) and had a go on Tomb Raider with my Mixamp hooked up.  These headphones are awesome, even though I've got a pretty decent surround sound setup much prefer gaming with these Headphones.

Also how amazing how good they sound even without an amp.  I thought I might need the volume on max but half is more than enough for me.  Need to use them more now and break them in.

It is possible to use these with the Xbox One?  Want to be ready to chat with my buds on Titanfall.

Thanks.

I don't think so. The Xbox One headphone jack is 2.5mm to you'll have to get an adapter.

Hey guys,

I recently purchased my X1s a few days ago after the Lightning Deal happened. It was actually on sale for $230 on Amazon and so I took the plunge since it's still a pretty good deal even without the deal. I actually chatted with a customer service rep and asked if she would still honor the prmotional price. I wasn't able to get the promotion since it's against their policy to honor Lightning Deals after it's expired but she was able to give me another 10% discount so I was able to get the X1s for around $207 after the discount. So for everyone still on the fence about this, X1s for around $200 is still a great deal if you're willing to talk to a few Amazon customer service reps.

The X1s are quite tight on me, even tighter than the Beyer DT990 Pros, so I'm guessing they wouldn't be a great fit for someone with a large head.

How big is your head? I wear a size 8 and it fits fine. Not trying to be rude, jw.

Got mine through on the very lucky, $150 flash sale (Worked out at £120 including taxes + postage to the UK - great deal!).

Very happy with them.

So comfy, great sound, no negatives at all for me.

Also - bought a new Fisual cable for £13 after reading all the comments.

Tried it against the stock cable and for the life of me cannot tell any difference. I'm using various electronic music via Rekordbox to test, all MP3's legally bought 320kbs. House, Dubstep, Techno etc.

A little annoyed a bothered to pay for a new cable but to my ears the stock one is absolutely fine and sounds great.

Been using them with Bioshock Infinite on the PS3 just by plugging them into the my Panasonic Smart TV headphone socket and they sound so detailed, spacious and very warm.

Love them, highly recommended.

Greetings,

What comes with the new X1?  is there one or two cables?  I know one is 1/4" jack and wonder if there's a 2nd that is 1/8".  Is there an adapter? Is there any storage bag? Anyways, curious what comes in the box.

Thanks,

UL

Have just got mine. When I first connected it up, there was only sound from the left speaker. I tried a different cables and players and they were the same. Then later as I was swapping cables the sound came on. I managed to track down the connection problem with the socket on the headphone. I can still use the headphones but I do not know if the problem will become worse. Anyone has the same problem?
