[New] Philips Fidelio X1 - Page 232

Guys I have had the X1 in my shopping basket for the past week!

I am using HD598's with an Aune T1

Source is Spotify Premium

80% Music and 20% Games

Don't watch movies, I have zensor 5.1 for that:D

I have DT-1350 Facelifts for portable use and love the low extension and accurate bass

I love the comfort, looks and sound of my 598's just they barely have any bass impact.

I am not a 'bass head' but I appreciate that bass makes a large part of a song and want it reproduced accurately and deeply.

Will the X1's offer me this? Will I feel justified with the purchase on top of 598's?

I like analysis but also appreciate I want the music to come alive and have no soul.

The reviewer above seems to think so...

X1's can rumble away and give great bass (in my limited experience compared to other 'phones). The rest of the sound signature is pretty neutral and doesn't willingly submerge the lower freq's: basically, you will really like them (I've heard the Senn PC360 and they probably share the same sound signature as your 598's). The bass can get a bit bloated on the wrong tracks however, but overall: they are the 'dogs balls' as we say in Britain.

Buy them and slap on Dire Straits - Dire Straits...... they seem to have been made for this beautifully produced album. **They need a bit of burning in btw**

These are some of the best headphones around at any price.  They are simply amazing.

I've tried a lot of the "high-end" headphones and I'd choose these any day over many of them.

If Philips can come out with a version with replaceable pads, that would be fantastic.

an amp is also not a necessity, which just makes these cans so versatile, they handle every genre very well, and vocals are very clear

Yeah, i had the HD550's, the 598s and the 650. While these were all amazing HPs, the X1 is simply better. On the T1, the bass is deep and controlled and I never get tired listening to them while working.

Agreed,Just got mine and tried using it with a rooted htc one with viper one audio mod installed.. Wow.. everything is so clear, even 128kbps mp3 sounded good with it.

The bass is accurate not boomy right?
What of this talk of recessed MIDs which the response graphs don't show?

If anything they are similar to my beyers, completely flat from low bass to mids

It's just a touch bloaty on some sources, but otherwise no... it's energetic and immersive as it can be for a heapdhone that costs $250. Seriously, WHERE on earth can one find a headphone for this price, with this quality. Near impossible.

The recssed mids... I think they are overblown. Obviously the K712, K702 Annies, HD650, and HD600 is a few notches better than the X1. That doesn't mean the mids are completely drowned though, this isn't a beats product we're talking about. You'll hear plenty of details in the mids, guaranteed. You just won't hear it as well as the other mentioned competitors.

Hi,

I have a Philips Fidelio X1 and I want to change the cable, but I'm deciding between these two

Audioquest Tower

and

QED Performance j2j

Any opinions?

Thx! ;)

I wanna buy them right now but the only thing stopping me is they were only £151 a couple weeks ago and now have jumped up in price to £188!  Can get them in from Italy but I don't know what Phillips warranty is like for international orders.

about warranties also do not know anything...
