Can anyone point me in the direction of the best value cable I should buy for these?

Two things:

1) Cheap is good, haha

2) Royal blue color would be great, not sure if that's feasible though

Based on some of the earlier comments and research in this thread, the mediabridge on amazon or

http://www.monoprice.com/Product?c_id=102&cp_id=10218&cs_id=1021816&p_id=9765&seq=1&format=2#description

is your best bet for value (not royal blue though)

The L2 is definitely not better than the X1. It is a step above the L1, which I used to own, but it really doesn't compare to the X1. You're safe to purchase. And I agree that the X1 does well with classical, you can save money by not going the Senn. route (unless it's the HD800 haha, they are still the classical end game IMO)

I have the HD598 and I just bought the X1. After using the X1 for a week I sold the 598. The X1s are just alot more exicting and engaging. While I enjoyed the accurate sounds from the 598, the X1 was able to bring goosebumps.

the bass on the X1 is exactly as bassy as I want it. Enough to bring that intense shiver to back of my neck, but never too much to sound over.

those of you with X1s who like cars watch this video with the X1s. Its magical.

This is not the say that HD598s were no means bad.  The X1s are just that good.  The 598s plastic were creaking and cracking after years of use though, sometimes it interefered with music.  But these X1s are solid alumunium and doesn't creak what so ever.

Anyone know if one is better than the other?  Both are cheap, so, I am fine with buying whichever has historically shown the best performance.

I tried researching in the thread but I kept seeing the only cables from UK, etc.

They measure the same in terms of resistance, and based off appearances it's very likely that they're the exact same cable.

So I'd get whichever your prefer cosmetically.

The V-Moda audio only cable for $15ish is a good option as well.  Very light weight, comes in a few colors, plug and play.
