The Centrance HiFi M8 thread

Thinking of buying the M8 for my T1. I have my T1 already balanced with XLR4. Anybody using this combo, is it any good? Which output impedance to use, 1Ohm? Any hiss? Using the iBasso DX100 now, very happy but have most of my music on iDevices, so would like an iDevice friendly DAC/Amp, is the M8 the current cream of the crop? Don't want to use CCK because that seems to be hit or miss with Apple updates or devices. Thanks! Hugo

Btw. Will be parting with my iBasso DX100. I'm living in Europe if anyone's interested.

Add one more to the list.
I can confirm that the Sony A10 series players work with the M8.
You do need this cable which is $50 but this way you can have a fairly portable solution which holds up to 192gb, plays FLAC, ALAC, and potentially does hi res (need to test). Plus the battery of the Sony lasts 30+ hours.
I just wish there was a more compact/ergonomic cable solution.

Here was that post with your Walkman.  You can see you will need to adapt to go to the USB B port...

For T1 I'd choose the highest output imp as for me it helps to smoothed out high and made vocal a bit mellower. No hiss at all.

The T1s pair excellent with the HiFi M8 in my experience. It is the only amp that I would use for it when heading out the door. More than enough power.

Max gain and max impedance. I leave the tone shaping controls alone.

Oh gosh, this I think is the least convenient "portable" interconnect I've ever seen. Seems to be carried like a crystal vase, in order not to loosen something.

Is there any other way to connect Walkman to Centance (with probably more reliable & less cabling)?

Have a Pono and a DX90, would be nice to be able to connect one of them as well. Or my iPad, since I got the LX.

Thanks! Good news, a new work horse for on the road :)

Btw, is there any difference between Centrance Hifi m8 versions in terms of their compatibility with a Walkman like A10 series?

I mean can I use different inputs of Centrance to connect my Walkman, or do I only have a single choice..?

If so, which way would be the one with least and smallest interconnects & cables?

For ex., something like an alternative like this wm-port to micro usb adapter :

Hello I'm newish to the forum I'm wondering which setting I would need to use on the centrance hifi-m8 I am using a Astell Kern AK 120 Titan with Centrance Hifi-m8 with AKG K812 headphones. I am unsure which 1ohm 2ohm or 11ohm settings I should use for K812 headphones which have a rated impedance of 36 ohms . Any help would be great. Thanks Cosmicalien

Why don't you find it for yourself?

Also, most of fullsized dynamic headphones with low impedance are unaffected by such output impedance. This thing is efficient for multidriver based IEMs
