Also used ipad and iphone through onkyo hf player and cck. Worked as expected. Got the m8 lx due to having ios and ak120.

To the good stuff...

All i can say is wow. The hd650 sounds very good with the m8. When i thought any amp would do with the hd650, this combination somewhat made me doubt that thinking. Also enjoying the hifiman re400. I'm looking at updating my cable to the sysconcept that folks have posted about but it'll take time...

Haven't tried the he500 yet as i've been very much enjoying the m8-hd650 and m8-re400 lately...

The CLAS RxMk3B+ has been seeing less time and i'm contemplating selling the stack frown.gif

I predict that 'when' you get the HE-500 you will ask yourself why you didn't get them sooner smily_headphones1.gif

I've learnt that it's unwise to use a device while it's battery is charging. It could shorten the life of the battery, or in worse situations catch fire. Any advice regarding using the M8 while it's charging?

I've been using my HiFi-M8 with my Sennheiser HD600 every night while it's charging for the past 2 months or so without any problems at all. Battery life is still about 6 hours when I use it as stand alone dac/amp (without charging) in the day time.

Since I only use M8 as a desktop DAC/amp connected to my macbook, I don't have to worry about charging while using it. It still charges but very slow while connected to my macbook. I used it around 2-3 hours on average a night or 5 hours tops on weekends. It never runs out of juice and does not seem to degrade battery performance yet.

M8 will sounds more linear through all spectrum, cleaner and more detailed while still being smoother from them.

The adjustment feature is really helping a lot if you use it for multi headphone choice

No, charging battery while you use it won't degrade either the sound or the battery quality.
