The Centrance HiFi M8 thread - Page 295

post #4411 of 5048

One more thing:  When you go to the USB B port with the CCK, you lose the ability to charge the iDevice when the M8 is plugged in.  So, you get the option of hi-res, but you'll need to charge your iDevice at some point.

The USB A port provides charging when the M8 is plugged in.

EDIT:  To fix port designations.

Thank you for the clarification. 24/96 only plays on iDevices as long as you use flac player correct? iTunes doesn't let me drag & drop 24/96 wav files on my iPod touch frown.gif

There was a fairly recent post, in one of the two M8 threads, stating that it was still in the works...

@jazzman7.

I had the port names mixed up.  Sorry about that!  I edited my original post so that the correct info is shown.

To clarify, you've been getting hi-res out of USB B, and that port is non-charging.  The USB A port [rectangle] does not require the CCK, does not do hi-res yet, and does offer iDevice charging when the M8 is plugged in.

After a few weeks just using my Audioengine D1/modded Beyer T70, I came back to my M8/HD800 rig and noticed a hum at the far left of the soundstage. Had I not abstained from my main rig for a while, I probably would not have noticed the issue, but I'm still wondering if anyone else is having or has had a similar problem.

Yeah, it was always been "still in the works".

I hope they keep to their words on delivering the 24/96 support on iDevices. That's a good way of proving their loyalty to their loyal customers.

It would be nice to have 24/96 without all the "voodoo" that ExpatinJapan had to do.  And it would also be nice not to need IOS7 to do it too....

Can't say what the motive is but remember, Apple pretty much transformed the selling of music

Still waiting for my M8. Will never use FedEx mail again, argh!
