Seriously, I would be more concerned about that if this thread wasn't here.  We're a smart enough of a bunch to figure things out...

Hello there, just wondering if hifi m8 would match with B&W P7?

Has anyone tried pairing these too?

Thanks.

Hey, folks

Anyone found a cars adapter that powers the M8? Not to power the M8 so much as to make it pass through power to the i_device on trips :-)

I don't think that's going to work, so you might just as well get an inverter for it.

Car adapters are 12 volt I believe.  The Doctor is correct in saying to go with a power inverter...

The problem is that even at 12 volts, most car USB adpater only gives off 0.5 Amps to comply with the USB 2.0 standard, which really isn't enough even to have the M8 trickle charge the iPod/iPhone.

Uhh no, they must have something in mind ... I hope!

DC Powering

+9...+20V DC (3A) from external adapter, car, boat, etc

Sigh...

How is an inverter able to ultimately draw *more* power from a 12V car lighter port? Most of them are on 5, 10 or 15 amp fuses.

A am talking about a cigarette lighter direct to the M8's power input, not via USB.

You could use a car charger to charge an external battery, then the battery to charge the M8.

The CEntrance charger is 19v 2.63 amps, and I think you will have a hard time finding the right car charger with this spec.  This is why an inverter is still your best bet.

A friend of mine who's a pilot is looking for a smaller power adapter or wall wart for his Hifi-M8. His flights are mostly more than 6 hours so traveling with the huge power adapter is a pain. Anybody knows a good working mini adapter or wall wart that will work with the Hifi-M8?

My apologies in advance as I am new to headfi.
I currently have to hifi m8 and audeze LCD xc, which I run through my iPhone.

I recently downloaded some 96 and 192 audio files and really heard the difference. However, as expected the iPhone does not play the hires files.

I have read about ak100v2, ak120 , and zx1 and considering just getting an iPod touch.

I want to kindly ask whether some can comment on the dap setup with the m8. Will it be of a huge difference ?
If so, will I need to get the m8 LX to pair with my dap?

Also this may sound stupid, but since I ordered the WA7 fireflies, will it be necessary to use the m8 as well? Or do they provide the same functions?

Thank you and much appreciated smily_headphones1.gif

Thanks for the link phototristan, but isn't this about the same size as the original? Any chance of getting those wall warts which is similar to the old Nokia mobile phone power adapters?

There's an app called "Golden Ear" for iPhones & iPads which plays back up to 192kHz files but then again i devices can only output digital up to 48kHz max so all your high resolution files will be down sampled to 48kHz, so whatever you hear from the i device combi with the Hifi-M8 is actually 48kHz sampling rate.

If you're going for the A&K DAPs then you'll need the Hifi-M8 LX version for the optical input. Hifi-M8 XL4 version does not accept optical in.
