Lion.  Recovered by starting in safe mode, and blocking Adobe, then uninstalling the Linn DL manager, and then going to utilities and running the Adobe AIR uninstaller.  Everything seems ok now.  Maybe skip the DL manager and use the download option instead?

After I get done with the time machine restore of last night's backup to get past the issues the Linn Download Manager and/or Adobe AIR caused. Definitely skip the download manager install if you use a Mac!

EDIT - All seems to be working properly again.  Time machine to the rescue - first time for a full rollback for me.  So… skip the Download manager, be skeptical of downloading anything from Adobe, and just use the DL option.  HDTracks' DL manager didn't hose my computer, luckily.

And back to topic - I bet these 24 days of Christmas files sound great on the M8!

Congrats. I hope that you will enjoy it as much as I and others have and I assume that you took advantage of the 15% off that Moon audio offered?

I am looking forward to trying it out, I am curious what it can do with the HE-6's (not expecting that it will get anywhere close to my pioneer, but hopeful).

I did not get a discount from Moon is there a code? Was there a deadline?.

The one thing I wished the M8 had is a 3.5mm input. I find myself having to carry another setup for things that only have an analog out like my ipod classic 5.5.

Doesn't that have a dock connector?

Don't think that iPod is supported...

...and this was always intended to be a purely digital device.  Nothing analog.

The iPod Video 5.5G is definitely not supported.  I tried it for kicks with my M8.  No go.

Digital out began to be supported from the 6th gen iPod Classic onwards.  Video out changed around that time, too.

I'm surprised no one's asking about the ETA of the physical 'firmware' update.

An ETA will be a good Xmas gift from Centrance!

Dear Centrance/Santa Claus/Michael

Can I please receive the 24/96 FW update for my iPod unit for Xmas and  I promise that I will be good boy in 2014 and not buy anything else and "fully" respect that my better half told me not to do so!

I will also promise to continue my daily chores and pray very evening before I go to bed. Probably also cut down on the masturbation part when I receive the new FW..

yah, Michael must be real busy on the next project or the CEntrance elves are too busy packing boxes?

sorta feels like the M8 energy has dwindled and we've been forsaken in the land of music....

luckily I have my M8 and use it every night and twice when possible.

agreed tho, the firmware seems to have take less of a priority or urgency now...

I had an email from Michael at Centrance today. He says that he has been quite busy traveling this past month and is currently in Asia sourcing parts.
He will update the blog soon on the Hifi-m8 delivery backlog status and also hopefully report to us concerning the update to enable 24/96 via recent idevices.

Excuse my paraphasing and summary.

Expat.

Myself, I'm still looking forward to my M8, from the tail end of the pre-orders.

Hoping Santa Centrance still has me on the "nice" list.

Could someone explain to me how the impedance switch on the hifi m8 work so I could use it to the best potential?  Also what kind of setting are you using on the hifi m8 with HD 800 and TH 900?

11ohm/2ohm/1ohm

The 1ohm is a good all rounder. Suited especially for earphones and inears with a low ohm.

Go by the 1/8 or as some say the 1/10 rule.
32ohm headphones suit an output impedance of 4 (8x4=32).

But also do it by ear also, and find the right gain setting to power your phones.
