PM or petition CEntrance?  But I think it's a bit late for that now.

They are well known with their patience to their customers. If they want to add something, I believe they can. I think I am gonna PM and I know I am not alone, there are many people **cough cough Hoichi cough cough** who wishes the same feature.

I do, but frankly I'd feel awkward bothering them with feature requests when they're up to their headbands in preorders on the current models. I don't think CEntrance will have time for revisions for a few months at leas.

It won't hurt to ask, besides I am sure they do monitor this and other CEntrance related threads.

I hope they do, maybe they can even jump in and give us a quick answer. Something like "Guys we hear you, not now but in the near future we will definitely try to make your dreams come true" rolleyes.gif

J/K, please don't send me hate mail, as I do like CEntrance.

What's all the fuss about?  I got mine! (maybe 20 minutes ago...)

Not much, just a couple of people want theirs with a coaxial input that's all.

Actually Michael Goodman and his team welcome ANY and ALL feedback.

Write to them, I'm sure you will get a response, and you can always tell them I sent ya!

They can blame me.  LOL

Seriously - I think any option ideas you have are valid, and they'll address it one way or another!

Michael takes his correspondence with users VERY seriously.

Sorry!  I was just teasing you about this one:

(while the rest are still waiting on their pre-ordered M8.)

For me, optical in added to the iDevice would be a "sort of nice" addition, just in case I bought someone's used AK100 or something.  I don't *think* I'll ever end up with a DAP with coaxial input, but you never know.  I completely get that others would use this feature.

Heck, the little iBasso PB2 has USB/Optical/Coax input in a pretty small footprint, so it is possible.  Of course the little PB2 isn't packing a battery the size a small carry on suitcase, and neither it nor the PB2 amp operate in pure class A...

Agree; no real need for Coaxial, but an optical In in addition to the i-Device will really be great !!

Nah, I am pretty thick skin and I don't mind at all.  I think the coaxial input thing is more for the FiiO X3, iBasso DX50, or other oddball high end DAPs out there that has no optical out but a coaxial S/PDIF like the ColorFly C4 (no offense.)

I lean toward the iDevices.  They can be had used pretty cheap, the interface is very familiar to me, the on board amps are so crappy that they don't take up too much space, so the devices themselves are pretty small.  All in all, a fine transport for the iDevice version.  If you can't stomach the big Apple though, well, I get it.  They P me O often enough as well.  And yet I remain a fanboy.  Weird.

I tell you what, I did get to play with the AK100 and the AK120 at the CA Audio Show.  The interface is nice, the devices feel nice in the hand, and they sound nice up to the capability of the on board amp.  The 22 ohm output impedance of the AK100 is pretty silly though.  Still, if they could take that AK100, and strip out all the circuitry not involved in moving 1's and 0's out of the optical output, and make the case a little bit slimmer, they would have a hell of a Transport Only DAP on their hands.  Probably a pretty limited market though.

In audiophile terms, that just means they have to charge more for it... rolleyes.gif

Yeah, that why at least a decent population of the AK100/120 owners are Red Wine-ing their DAPs.
