Oh well. Thanks for the heads-up.

Good news is, I'm still saving up for my M8 so I still have time to figure out what do I want for a transport rolleyes.gif

Got with the LX if you want 24/192.

Not sure I'm hellbent on the 192 part. Even with the Alpha Dogs I'm planning to get I might not hear a difference from 96. Not to mention there's a lot of great music available in 16/44 only. Then again, since I don't have an iDevice yet, TOSLINK might be a better investment anyway.

Good news-Bad news:

My M8 has arrived and is on the truck for delivery...but delivery will be "the next business day" which is Tuesday since Monday is Labor Day.

I've waited 10 months so what's another 3 days...que up Carly Simon, "...anticipation, anticipa-a-tion, is making me wait..."

Anyone thinking about ketchup and Garrison Keiler, now? You'd have to be as old as me! And most likely live in the US. ;-)

I see that you have Dacmini 1 ohm, would appreciate very much if you could do a quick comparison when you have that M8. I am very curious to see what level of improvement the Dacmini have over M8 as I am eyeing on the Dacmini for a while.

Thanks

AW

Hardware-wise, Classic seems a lot more attractive to me, even not considering the price.

Not that I know, even FLAC player will downsample 24/96 so I guess not.

centrance is working at the moment to enable 24/96 on some of the more recent idevices remember.

I'm going to be DJing tonight at a friends house party (well, playing live on Ableton and put alot of playlists together on my AK100 and my iPod Classic), using the HiFi-M8!!

I tried it last night when we got the system set up - and it sounded fantastic!

I'll be using my portable rigs and my MacBook Pro SSD (for Ableton), and

using the HiFi-M8 as my outboard DAC!  I have a custom Nordost stereo mini-RCA plug

to get out of the HiFi-M8 into the system.

I was SO psyched about the better dynamics: I showed my friends the difference going

straight into the mixer from the laptop headphone output and also w/ the iPods headphone output.

They were BLOWN AWAY

I always thought that it was up conversion and not native 24/96, but if that's the case it will be great.

Yes, it has be covered Repeatedly and exhaustively on the blog and head-fi forums.

The goal is to have the Hifi-M8 pull 24/96 from idevices Natively.
Repeat: Natively. Not upscaling. Natively.

Centrance is working on that at the moment.

That is another one of the reasons why the idevice Hifi-M8 is such a game changer.

And, we're getting the same config.

Has anyone tried the M8 with HE-6?

Cheers

Ok, I didn't read all the thread, I don't have time for that now but I will check it later on.

I have a quick question though, is there any problem about using it and keeping it charging all the time?

Good news indeed. It seems like it is worth to adding it to the list. Well the only problem now is budget of course.
