We have less than 1.5 months till the end of 1st quarter.

But it seems that there are still lost of works need to be done. (from M8's blog)

Meh, better than Q3/4 release ;)

When I put my money down for the M8 I expected it to be released late Q3/early Q4.

So for me a Q1 release is amazing 

Now, my next purchase will be a good full-sized headphone for the M8.

Still thinking about that one...

Which will you buy first amp or HP?

I would love to buy the th900 fostex for the m8- wishful thinking atm though. The th600 is being released in a week though and is said to be sold for around $850 approx. Looking forward to reviews on that. 

I'm re-cabling, balancing and modding my m100's in prep for the m8 arrival. Should be good.

Maybe HE-500 is another good choice for me. 

Maybe M8(as a DAC) plus The Intruder(as an AMP) could be an ultimate solution for me.

Does anyone here have experience with Sony Walkman players? I am wondering if the Sony's standard USB cable will work to the M8, since the line out works with aftermarket Sony port-to-1/8" standard jack LOD cables when using amps with that normal connection method....

M8 plus Intruder doesn't make sense to me.  Why combine an all in one portable package with another one that is slightly less featured?  You pay a lot of money for redundant features and increase your portable footprint.  The Intruder was good when I heard it several times, and while it got impressively loud, it didn't do anything special for me.  Obviously, only a select few have heard the prototypes of the M8, but I am almost certain that the M8 won't give up much to the Intruder, if anything at all, plus has a TON more useful features from a company that specializes in digital audio.  I am by no means saying the Intruder isn't a good component (and Ray Samuels is a really nice guy), but the combo just confused me to the point that I had to ask what your rationale was.

And the HE-500 isn't much better than an LCD for transportable, although I might have misunderstood your choices.

Just curious what kind of information and criteria you are using for your possible choices.

Do any of the Sonys do digital out via USB, ie are they capable of on the go control from an outside device?  Sony port to 1/8" jack is just an analog signal out.  That won't work with the CEntrance since it is only digital in.

Ah yeah, it's just analog as far as I know on the Sonys. Bummer. 

does anyone know about the pricing on these?

especially the pricing between the centrance m8 and m8 LX?

on ttvj's website, it lists the spdif input option as $150 cheaper than the apple compatible version
