We feel that the smaller knob is quite good for what it does. Our primary goal is to make it less "bumpable". You will have no trouble adjusting, but then, you will also have no trouble with it adjusting itself as you move -- a serious problem with larger knobs.

Regarding the rubber bands, I was just curious to see what response we'd get to a claim that we can offer both kinds... IMHO, offering both is borderline madness, but I was curious....

I think we should offer the raised one, choose the stronger option with more longevity and be done with it.

But.... the rubber band controversy will go down as a definite highlight in the history of crowd sourcing. A lesson learned for your humble servant :)

Personally, I couldn't care less about the bands. Over the years I have acquired so many bands I have a basket full of them in my audio closet. Innies, Outies, Outies, Innies............ Can't we all just agree to get along? :)

On the blog, CEntrance has stated it is going with the outties.  No more discussion about them (unless awesome like Wormdriver's post) is necessary, IMHO.

My new focus is on delivery dates.  Really hoping for a pre-NCAA tournament release, as I am traveling for a week and would love to have this along.

Choosing the raised one because it's more durable is supported, and understandable.

Aesthetic wise, more people do prefer the inset. However, if we have enough time and resources, why can't we have inset bands in a more durable form?

A more durable rubber? An extreme example would be to use D3O material.

I'm not suggesting CEntrance spend more time with the rubber band choice. In an ideal situation, perhaps a better 'band' supplier can be considered. Or maybe other band materials or rubber grade can be explored. Even a more durable raised band design should be a plus.

My T-shirt arrived yesterday. I was considering making a goofy joke about the sound being "soft and fuzzy" and complaining that my headphones won't stay plugged in.

Instead, I will just say "thank you" to CEntrance. It's a nice gesture, and a nice shirt. Thanks.

Is that a Hanzo sword?  "I am finished doing what I swore an oath to God 28 years ago to never do again. I've created, "something that kills people." And in that purpose, I was a success. I've done this because, philosophically, I am sympathetic to your aim. I can tell you with no ego, this is my finest sword. If on your journey, you should encounter God, God will be cut."  They don't write them like that no more!

Hmmm... that sounds like something Michael Goodman would write...

"I am finished doing what I swore an oath to myself I would do two years ago.  I've created something that thrills people.  And in that purpose, I am a success. I've done this because, philosophically, I am sympathetic to your aim.  I can tell you without ego, the HiFi-M8 is my finest achievement.  If on your journey, you should encounter Ken Ball, Ray Samuels, or David Maudlin, you will make them cry."
