Personally, I wouldn't think I could hear any difference between the two options, so I'd get the option that's most common - for potential resale of the M8, eventually -AND- for potential resale of your LCD-3 custom cables - not to mention the ability to use those cables with as many other amps as possible.

At least you don't worry about the sound quality aspect...

While I would LOVE the option of mini-XLR, that doesn't seem like it will happen in this first release.  It is unfortunate that it wasn't in the poll or brought up sooner in this discussion.

As for the decision between dual 3-pin and single 4-pin.  I would think for a portable or transportable rig, a single 4-pin makes the most sense.  Additionally, and completely anecdotally, don't most balanced amps nowadays have the 4-pin option?  And even if it isn't the most common yet, don't we drive that as consumers?  I think if mini-XLR can't become a standard, at the very least single 4-pin needs to be.

I'm using the small and well-engineered Hirose connector at the end of my Toxic Cables' Silver Poison.  All of my future adapters will have the Hirose male connector at one end.

Indeed they must be faking. If we were about 15 days away I have to think Michael would announce it here first.

Just because some website seller is trying to sell something don't make it so........I just had a similar experience for a totally different commodity and bought the items three times, from three diff sellers who advertised they had the items, before finding a seller who really had the stuff in stock.

In theory, we should be compatible with iPhone 6, but there is not a short cable available at the moment with the lightning plug. Only the short cable with the 30-pin plug is available for now.

Single 4 pin should be a more versatile option, I'd think... but that's one man's opinion.

regarding the recent centrance m8 blog post about the rubber bands, my vote goes for the inset letters

sure dust will collect in the grooves but for me it looks better

Rubber Band Choice:

Both are black to match the chassis, but there is a difference:

- One has the logo letters sticking out (raised)

- The other has the logo letters impressed (inset).

My vote is for raised. I think it will give a small amount of protection.
